Favourite country music? (2 Viewers)

The Margo Price album is excellent but I am especially obsessed with this song:

The country gone seventies west coast vibe is sprinkled over the album with bits of Stevie and Sheryl in there.

Cam's second album is apparently making an appearance this October and the new single is the very bright and breezy Classic:

@FetchFugly I’ve been listening to Cam a lot since your recommendation. Til There’s Nothing Left is the one for me.

Oh my days, the new one from Ward Thomas is just the perfect song for summer:

Has anyone listened to the new Ward Thomas album?

It is brilliant, I even liked the James Blunt one.

I do like Don't Be a Stranger from the NMF playlist this week. It sounds very much like The Pierces.

Lovely live performance of Cam's new song:

Her album, due next week, somewhat randomly has Sam Smith and Harry Styles co-writes. I am assuming they have been repurposed.

I wasn't sure where to put this but anyway... Highwoman Amanda Shires' reworking of her single from last year with a very varied featured cast:

Live performance of the duet original:

Slightly obsessed with this one, it is like something Lee Ann Womack would have done before she got more rootsy:

This duet from Maren Morris and her very, very tall husband is good too:

Cary Pearce is fantastic, was listening to the album this afternoon. Next Girl is all over the radio right now, I enjoy it.

I really like Next Girl as well, it does sound like a hit. I haven't really followed her previously but the mini album or whatever is hitting those retro spots so well.

So good! This is really hitting me. Its specific to her but still relatable. I'm going to investigate her more

Gosh, Elephant is great. Haven't listened to the other one yet

Has Jason Isbell been posted here? He's probably my favorite male country artist

His song Elephant is probably one of the most impactful songs I have ever heard

Also Alabama Pines is beautiful/heartbreaking

@Beryl @FetchFugly @Frozen @dUb

I need to listen further but I got into his most recent album because I like his wife Amanda Shires' stuff and they collaborate a lot.

I need to listen to his new one, I haven't heard it yet. I also love HIM and his dedication towards electing Democrats/supporting liberal causes

Actually realised it wasn't Isbell's last album, it was the one before with If We Were Vampires (which I love) on it.

I've listened to 29 so much the last week or so. I can't relate too much as unfortunately 29 feels like ancient history for me but I love it lyrically so much - they are so country:

But for me 29
Is the year that I got married and divorced
I held on for dear life, but I still fell off the horse
From a Miss to a Mrs then the other way around
The year I was gonna live it up
Now I'm never gonna live it down

:(

Not a collaboration I ever expected to see... Monica and Little Big Town :o:disco:

Never been a fan although I’m a huge fan of Americana, which sits adjacent as its more serious and “real music” cousin.

Dolly’s big 3 anthems (Jolene, 9 to 5 and Islands) are all great obvs but I don’t know her much beyond that.

The only two I can think of that I truly love are Stuck On You and Sail On by The Commodores.

Carly Pearce is extending her 29 EP to a full album (good news but strange release strategy) and released this very retro duet:

Been losing my shit to this pooftastic remix from Reba’s upcoming 3-disc extravaganza

That one's very good. I found a Fancy remix too, but it wasn't that good

Interesting artwork but a very nice, wistful ballad (a Carly Pearce co-write - her 29 album is very good):

Lovely festive number from Cam:

I saw the coming out announcement but missed this song when it was released earlier this year. His voice sounds nicer on the record but the big gay rhinestones and bigger turn ups CMA stage moment is sweet:

I didn’t know he came out! Stay a Little Longer is one of my favorite country songs
