Favourite country music? (2 Viewers)

Enjoying Morgan Wade at the moment. Her album is getting a re-release next week now she is on a major label. There's a bit of Lissie gone more country here and there:

This is quite lovely:

Can't get enough of this country come yacht nonsense:

Enjoying the new Miranda too:

New Miranda Lambert album. Some fluff and filler in the middle maybe, but plenty of good stuff.

Carousel is the standout. A good old country story song and I am not sure she has ever sounded sweeter:

Top 40 Song For Moopy artists Little Big Town's new album is REALLY FAB!

I thought Nightfall was great but the songs released in advance of this album I haven't been into so much. I'll give the album a go though, at 16 tracks they can afford a couple of duds.

I haven’t loved the pre-release stuff either but there were so many standouts for me from a first listen to the album.

In LOVE with the title track :disco:

Loving One More Song too.

Baby just one more song
What do you say we just dance all around the hurt and the pain
Kiss me in the middle of the mess that we made just like nothing went wrong
Baby just one more, one more song

🥺

I’m really enjoying Brandi Carlisle’s In These Silent Days album

Reba McEntire

Has anyone been to the c2c music festival in the UK? It's coming to Manchester for the first time next year.

Ella Langley is kinda blowing up a bit in the UK and I like what I hear.

Kacey's had me in a bit of a country mood. This one from Ashley Monroe is lovely:

Carly Pearce does the retro thing very well:

Miranda takes it to the country disco. I think the first I ever heard of Crisco was on Tales of the City :D

This one from Midland is just as silly:

Ooooh I like the Ashley Monroe one, thanks for posting.
Miranda Lambert is another good Country singer...

I have to take this back now... she has GROWN ON ME   :shy:

and my FAVE Taylor lyric

State the obvious,
I didn’t get my perfect fantasy
I realized you love yourself
More that you could ever love me
So go and tell your friends
That I’m obsessive and crazy,
That’s fine
I’ll tell mine
You’re gay
And the very next post is the moment you hopped on the bandwagon!

I’m definitely a flake lol I did hate her when she first arrived but I’ve grown to love little fake country TayTay

Reading back through this I’ve seen so many of the country artists I talked about so that’s cool

Reba
Lori Morgan
Tanya Tucker
Deana Carter
Pam Tillis

In your defense, she absolutely couldn't sing for shit in 2007.

I like Dolly, the group fka The Dixie Chicks, and Kacey Musgraves, but for the most part I can only stomach it in small doses and in many cases I prefer the country artists when they cross over to something different (Kacey, Taylor). I can't get behind the lyrical obsession with TRUCKS and BEER. Even the women seem to be fixated on drinking beer and keying their boyfriends' trucks.

Just discovered Lainey Wilson, another good country singer. I've liked 2 out of the 3 albums I've heard.

Just listened to two albums by Miranda Lambert - Revolution and Platinum. Both very good but Platinum is more traditional country whilst Revolution is more modern.

I feel like I'm talking to myself but I shall carry on. Just listened to another Miranda Lambert album - Crazy Ex Girlfriend and it's another winner.

I’m ok with Miranda in small doses.

Top 3 Miranda :

1. The House That Built Me
2. Gunpowder and Lead
3. Kerosene

I love The House That Built Me but Crisco is absolutely doing it for me atm

I prefer more recent Miranda, from The Weight of These Wings onwards. Carousel from Palomino might be my favourite.

Yes The Weight Of These Wings is a good album. I would also recommend Postcards From Texas if you like more recent Miranda.
