Friday abandons its new cable

Mandy and I are (top secret) looking in to getting married at Gretna Green :disco:

Raspberries are great but I always get a seed stuck in my teeth and it fucks me off.

Why Gretna Green?
Because we've always said we want to get married there. All weddings we've been to on the island are the standard hotel wedding, disco etc. We want a bit different. And cheaper. Gretna is about £800.

Rita - I will, Mandy won't. But again simple style.

I get the no fuss business totally. I just think (admittedly probably with no good cause) that Gretna Green is a bit of a cliche. But I guess they are very set up for it, if nothing else. And I know you love a bit of scenery.

It's totally a cliché! But so are standard hotel weddings. Literally every wedding I've ever been to has been in a hotel. With the same company doing the decorations etc.

Plus yes...scenery is very important.

Our only other cheap option is a registry office. That seems a bit too simple.

And I suppose you could make Gretna like a Wedding Road Trip :disco:

If you can't STAB someone with a heel, what's the point?

As someone with a few weddings under his belt I can tell you that a registry office and a meal/pissup with all your mates dressed up is just as much fun as a £30k country manor wedding. Its the people and the love that make it, not the venue and the spend.

Ah this is exactly what I wanted to read!! One of my other friends announced they're getting married and spending £20,000! Mandy and I are looking at spending £1000 and I felt like ours would be shit and our friends will compare the two.

Fuck spending that money on others, Rachey. Put it all on the honeymoon. I assume you're planning about SIX of them.

I really don't understand WHY anyone spends that type of money on a wedding

Congrats Rachey x

:D obviously. We've already got a cruise booked for November so depending on when we get married we may use that as our honeymoon
