Also, why must the birds be so noisy at 4am :argh:

I love hearing the bird song...at 7am, but this hotel is ridiculously hot so we kept the window open and got woken at 4am by the birds so we closed it and sweated :(

Window is now back open and I think we overlook the kitchen because I keep getting strong wafts of bacon and sausage coming in. It smells amazing, bad time to have given up eating pig :(

I've been awake since 5am. Feeling good/ excited/ anxious. But I'm not shitting it. We have about three hours to get ready. Coffees now. Very tempted by the gin tin in my fridge.

Which hotel?

My big advice is have a few drinks before you get ready so you're NICELY happy for the ceremony but then STOP. Literally have a wine or two throughout the day.

Then hit it in the evening.

You do NOT want to look drunk in your photos, you want to remember everything as well!

Did you and Mr Ag spend the night apart or is that a tradition people don't do anymore?

You seem to have embraced your visit here!
Im loving it :D we went to some monkey bar yesterday after going to a lovely pizza place and I gave my leftover pizza to a homeless man with a cute dog.

We're off to Walton on the naze today.

The people of Colchester seem very pleasant.

No! We decided we'd rather do it together, then deal with families whims and stresses.

Plus the cat is our biggest ally.

That's cool. It's a weird tradition that I don't quite get. My dad even did it on his second marriage, which took place on a tiny island. He stayed a night in a glorified shed because such was the accommodation scenario.

Ah yes, the cat would not be happy missing out on the celebrations.

I hope your day goes wonderfully, and I'm so happy the weather is good!

We stayed together the night before.

The tradition is about being WOWed by the bride in her dress, isn't it? So you don't get ready together.

Three Wise Monkeys. Nice bar.

Oh I was expecting it to be beautiful and classy. Not trashy :(

We're doing Flatflord Mill tomorrow. That looks classy.

@GinAg (39) enjoy your day today. It will go so fast!

Another good bit of advice someone gave me was this. At regular points, stop, do nothing but look. At people, at the venue, at what is happening. Ground yourself. Take it in. Because you'll be so busy trying to see everyone/ do everything that you really need to.

I didn't think of it until I was halfway through the speeches and it was SUCH a good point to make. It really did make me take it all in and appreciate everything far more.
