I broadly agree with you on Body Languge @funky - it's a bold artistic statement marred by her label clearly being terrified of not having another US hit. Red Blooded Woman is one of the worst releases of her career.

Anyway, broken record aside, I don't mind this at all. I think I liked it more at the time, but it's still a great track. She's channeling George Michael here - George loved a jazzy backdrop and whispery vocals now and again. She couldn't pull off that sound like George however, but at least she doesn't try and keeps it simple. Simple but effective. The production on here is lush and makes the song.

Chocolate is one of the most out-there songs of her career. making it a single was kind of madness. but God...

08 Loving Days - this title rang a bell and I do believe I've heard this one before somewhere. This feels very 90s, and I'm not mad. Strong moody production here, and the melody allows her voice to soar. I'm always a sucker for lush string arrangements too. No idea where I heard this before, maybe when I heard the album I kept the mp3 of this. This is a bit of a keeper actually, thing this will end up on my playlist.

one of her deepest tracks ever. very emotional. should've been the closer.
 
I think you'll like Slo Motion and Soul On Fire. You should rate them too.

There are lots of bonus/unreleased tracks from this album but not sure I can be bothered to sort out the chaff from the wheat.
 
I'm not keen on tracks like City Games and Cruise Control but I know they have their fans on Moopy.
 
I think you underrated "Someday", it's lush.

I like Red Blooded Woman but agree with what @VoR said. It really doesn’t fit. If they’d just left the whole thing as the electro funk thing, it would have felt more cohesive- and in theory there are a couple more tracks that fall into that.

I still love the album overall though but for once agree with @funky - it does tail off a bit. And they should have sacked After Dark. Whoever thought Loving Days shouldn’t be the closer was DIM AT BEST.
 
The fact that Funkette gave After Dark 7/10 and some other Minogue back-cat classiques zeros and threes. I can't.
 
After Dark is brilliant, as is Slo-Motion which was the closer on my copy (I assume the UK as well?)

I get that RBW has a few influences from the r&b sound of the time, but to me it just reads more of a ‘big’ mid-tempo pop track rather than all that American sound. Anyhoo I love it but never feel the need to play it often.
 
Whether or not you like After Dark (and I actually do...) it is just NOT an album closer over the majesty of Loving Days. Or, yes, Slo Motion would have been great too- and should have been on the album.

For me it's largely a fantastic album. This more than any other is a total vibe. The two tracks I'm not keen on are RBW and After Dark which I find cheesy as hell.

Most people hate I Feel For You but I love it.

I'm sorry I missed this, because I have a lot to say about Body Language.

Sometimes I think it's my favourite Kylie album of them all :disco:
 
It does go off the boil at the end though. I'm equally baffled that Loving Days wasn't made the last track. As much as I like After Dark, it does feel like a bonus track tacked on to the end.

The disdain for Red Blooded Woman is shocking though. It's an absolute belter of a song and perfectly placed in the middle of the album.

Supposedly. Wasn't there a fake track listing that circulated months before the album's release (on which it was listed) that also featured all manner of made-up collaborations?
 
Since when was On The Up from these sessions? I thought it was from the period that followed (Ultimate Kylie). Lot's of people like that one don't they? I don't see the fuss, personally.
 
One thing is clear is that BMG are far more frugal with their studio time than Parlophone ever were. :D

There have been no "unreleased" songs from the last two albums.

This is a sad thing. I'm sure she'd love to get them all out there given how fan service friendly she is, but presumably it's an absolute legal binfire in terms of who owns what.
