It feels to me as if we're setting up for a Dany win. The odds have shifted massively against her (small army/Jon parentage/all her trusted allies either dying or turning against her) and that's exactly why she will pull it off somehow.

The only question is if she'll do it with grace or madness.
 
So I thought that was a really good episode.

Euron's attack kind of came from nowhere for me, although in hindsight I'm not sure why they weren't more prepared for this. In any case, I really wasn't expecting the death of Rhaegal. :o / :(

All the signs are pointing to Dany being killed. She only really has Grey Worm now, so it'd be a good swerve to have her overcome this.
 
Where was Jon? Why was he not with them to go to Kings Landing? :confused:
 
And presumably, walking takes longer than sailing. Even in speedy-travel GoT, that's probably true.
 
Oh NO. Apparently spoilers of the season finale have leaked. I may need to boycott the internet for the next two weeks. :(
 
Now THAT's the kind of moment I needed for one of the deaths last week. Missandei was always a bit of a duff character, but she worked well as a catalyst for Dany's anger - and she got a truly horrible end, like we've not seen for a couple of seasons really.

Can't believe there's only two left now... :o

I really hope it's not Jon on the throne in the end. I actually can't stand him.
 
the dragon scene truly had me :o it felt like such an uplifting moment, soaring through the skies, and then BAM, nasty Asbæk makes his move

Tyrion and Varys not collaborating anymore has me a bit worried... but Tyrion will come around soon enough. I would hate to see Jon on the throne but if it means that witch is DING DONG DEAD so be it

The Hound and Arya riding off together <3

If the episode is as underwhelming as the Winterfell battle the best we'll get is Qyburn breaking a fingernail.

VARYYYYYS!!! I really thought he'd make it :cry:

At first I thought it was such a cop-out to have Cersei's army fall so quickly and the Golden Company to surrender so easily. But Daenerys' attack was a good 'twist'. Vengeful bitch :disco: But it was hard to watch. Loved seeing everything crumble though.

LOL at Qyburn being decimated with just one SLAP :D They did a good job with The Mountain. He's a gross looking monster. Glad we got to see his face. But Sandor :(

Arya's bits were a bit pointless. She went in and didn't end up doing anything. I thought she'd at least kill The Mountain or save Sandor.

The fight between Euron and Jaime was just LOL. Especially when Jaime slapped him with his gold hand :D
 
Do we think Cersei and Jaime are dead? Or will they somehow survive the whole palace crumbling in on them?
 
God I hate Jon Snow. By what metric is he worthy of the Iron Throne when he happily signed up to an attack plan that explicitly featured murdering innocent women and children in their thousands if Cersei didn't surrender? Just because he felt bad about it midway through?

It was an effective episode, but yikes the writing of the characters has truly fallen off the deep end. Tyrion is a complete fucking idiot now.
 
It was a disappointing episode, like the motivations could have worked had they had more time but the build up to Dany flipping out needed more time.

It’s also criminal how little we got from Lena Heady and bless her she did try her best but that was an underwhelming end to Cersei (it didn’t even close the episode, we then had to endure that bizarre horse scene).

That episode was FANTASTIC. I don’t see how anyone could find it disappointing at all, other than the fact it never played out the way they wanted it to. A cinematic MASTERPIECE.
 
I find Cersei and Jaime’s disgustingly incestuous relationship rather heart rending.
 
25 minutes in and i'm getting all nostalgic. dany finally getting something meaty, dravarys, jaime and tyrion... almost washes the bitter taste from last season's blockbuster nonsense.
 
Did they decide to have Dany and Cersei swapping personalities? I’m really hating how out of character many of the characters are playing now.

Visually it was a. much more appealing episode compared to the fight in the North, but I really hated how they destroyed all the nice buildings. :(

The Hound scene was my favourite.
 
I think it was always the plan to make Dany go mad. She has hardened a lot from the early seasons, and obviously the family history of delirium was also very telling. I do agree we should have had more of a build up to her mental failings but the battle scenes with her riding the dragon and destroying Kings Landing more than made up for it for me.
 
it's not like Dany's frenzy was sudden, it's been a long time coming ever since she flew into Westeros. and although Cersei is most definitely dead, she had the final say. she left Dany with nothing

just finished this. was rather long huh? i liked the episode more before the action started but even then it was mostly good.

i think dany turning to spite was some time coming. it could've taken a while longer in the oven but i got it.
ditto what vor said about jon snow. ugh.

on one hand i liked arya listening to the hound but on the other everything she did after she turned around was confused.

jaime and cersei's demise was underwhelming. i liked the choice they made, it made sense to me but they way it was handled was very meh. cersei's whole strategy was strangely lacking a plan b. doesn't she always have a plan b?

euron vs jaime... i don't know. it felt rather contrived to me. same for hound and brother.

so dany vs jon next week? with sansa, arya and tyrion still in the game. is gendry a contender should they all kill each other?
 
It wasn't a very satisfying end for Cersei. I wanted something more humiliating and painful. Being crushed by bricks with her brother-boyfriend wasn't it.

btw i was hoping for arya to get trampled. it would've been so randomly an unheroic death that it would've been plausible.
 
Cersei died after being reunited with her one true love. She definitely deserved a lot worse.

well she lost all her kids, got fucked pretty hard by the sparrows and has been sporting that haircut for two or three seasons now so maybe we can call it even?
