The album kind of bombed even by legacy act standards, so not a huge surprise. Though a bit sad to go out on a relative whimper.

Also the boys must be pretty elderly at this point.

Hope they eke out one last European leg if so. I saw them around the time of Not Your Kind of People and they were great.

With their being so associated with the 90s/00s, I often forget Garbage are actually much older than that implies. The boys were already hovering around 40 when the debut album came out, and Duke is now 74. Even Shirley as the youngest has had a plethora of health issues.

It's got to be a slog for diminishing returns. Unfairly, it's never felt like Garbage have quite obtained the status they should have. They don't sell new music, and they don't seem to be treated with the same "Legendary" gravitas that some of their contemporaries do.

Yeah I sometimes forget how old the band members are Shirley is pushing 60 and the guys are one late 60s and the other 2 in their 70s

They really have been left out of the classic lists from their era even though they have quite a number of huge songs over the first few albums.

No, I saw a longer clip and he held onto the (small) beach ball the whole time and was waving his hat around, he seemed to be the only person vibing to the band in the crowd.

Turns out from an interview he’s a massive fan who has bought all their records and rarities so whilst Shirley may have interpreted something incorrectly in the moment I think she does owe him an apology although he says he doesn’t need one. Shes usually spot on but she got this one wrong.

To be fair she's just cognisant of the fact that her considerably older bandmates might not be up for the slog which is fair enough.

Not everyone can be propped up with a scaffolding like the Rolling Stones.
