Good morning.

There's no way not to make this sound very middle class, but I've hired a piano practice room for an hour this morning. I've not played a proper piano in about 12 years (my parents have one but it's seen better days, this will be a proper grand) and I hope the room is well soundproofed so I can belt out a tune.

Morning all. I'm having a day off work as I've got a root filling at the dentist at 10am. I'm tentatively considering doing some pre-Christmas decorations cleaning but I imagine that feeling will have worn off soon and I'll do nothing but watch Netflix.

I'd love to have learned to play the piano properly, could never get the hang of both hands doing different things though.

I have a splitting headache for the second day in a row. All the normal tablets don't do much. I ignored it yesterday as it was my mums birthday.

I normally have quite a dull headache everyday, but this is on the verge of crippling

I used to do this at the Mitchell Library in Glasgow. £3.50 an hour at the time. I mean, we're talking uprights rather than a grand but it was a great wee refuge.

Me too, woke up with it pounding, Dannii has been awake since 3am too which is not helping. And now I've both kids at home today with no one able to help me so I can rest. F*ck you covid.

Oh I'm not isolating and I'm still only getting a nurse phone call.

Right, need to get my act together. A trip to the foodbank and then gym gymnastics this morning. I think the afternoon will be a non stop TV session for them.

I don't have much cash, but I should probably get a foodbank donation together.

Morning! Got a busy day (for me) Covid test at 2pm in Leicester Square of all places, would love to get dim sum whilst I’m there but I’m now avoiding the filthy public until tomorrow’s train to my parents. I then have a LARGE WASTE COLLECTION booked to take away some bits and bobs from the old flat so need to pop round there and dump the stuff on the street.

Fucking shitty work. 3 of our managers are off this week meaning I was in charge. But the deal was, to enable them all off together (which is never allowed), on Thursday and Friday this week, I'm not contactable, but one of them is.

So today I've had 3 phone calls from people going sick and had to arrange cover and the manager who is in today is telling me to sort stuff out.

FUCK OFF.

Two more weeks :argh:

Wow, that can't be nice having daily headaches :o I get them maybe once every two months.

Nothing ipbruprofen doesn't sort. But this absolute splitter has triggered me to seek further investigation.

Probably blood pressure. AGAIN!

Is it even possible to get your blood pressure checked at the moment? Loads of my customers are telling me they just can't get to see a gp so it's all guesswork over the phone

Headaches really do make you feel shit. And high blood pressure is the worst at causing them.

My friend gets migraines every couple of days and is on all sorts of meds. She's been under investigation for a year now and they still don't know what causes them.

Hope yours clears up soon.

Apparently it's telephone triages but if the doctor thinks you need to be seen then you get an appt.

Not long to go Rachey, hang in there!

Managing sick days is the worst at the moment, even at my work it's constant. But it's unavoidable, anyone with a fever or who has been in contact with someone with a fever can't really come in.

I have my own monitor.

Most of mine seems to be people with children who can't work. I'm finding it increasingly annoying because they're also the ones that can't ever do a late shift or be flexible. And I do get it, but it puts so much pressure on the others.

I hoped I'd be happier when I step down but I don't think I will be. I'm planning on leaving altogether in the next 6 months.

I suppose I see it from the other side now, but it's so tough. It's been literally 8 months now since I've had any help in looking after the kids. My dad used to pop round for a couple of hours a week and in that time I could whizz around and just get so much done. Now I've no help at all and I'm trying to manage the house as well as working and honest to God I feel like I'm sinking so badly. I can't keep on top of it all and everything just feels a mess. As well as that there's just no where we can go right now, so we're stuck in the house, on a day like today I will literally spend 10 hours in the living room as Mr Star is working from home. And when the kids are sick, again I have no choice but to call in sick because there's just no one else that can look after them. I've never been so exhausted!

Seeing a real human doctor at 2.20.

Haven't been for ages. I tell you what, not being in a workplace keeps the germs away :D

I nominated two of my clients (I picked those with children, naturally) for Christmas hampers from one of the foodbanks here. They were both accepted and I had to collect the hampers myself. They were huge - I could barely manage to carry one at a time for more than a couple of minutes walking. Stuffed full of Christmas food and snacks, and small stocking filler type gifts. And both had a £100 Aldi gift voucher in. One of the women cried when she came to collect it yesterday. I think it has kicked Christmas off for me.

I usually get a cold every 6-8 weeks or so, but since I've been wearing a mask at work, this is only the second time in 6 months I've been down

That's so lovely. I wish I could do something like that. We're not allowed christmas jumper day at work this year, I was thinking of suggesting to the bosses that we collect for a foodbank instead

What a wonderful thing to do. Especially in a year like this.
