Gladiators (BBC reboot)

Im enjoying Suspension Bridge being in the event mix. Admittedly all of yesterdays battles were quite short but the ones the week before we great and showed a few different approaches. Unlike Duel there can be an element of retreat and come back, whilst also the event doesn’t allow for any defensive given how close both combatants can get.

I counted three seconds head start on the wall. Really the problem with the wall is as it’s used for back projection, it’s just flat and single tracked thus there is nothing much a gladiator can do but go for the legs. It’s hard to climb higher as they risk getting kicked by the contenders and there’s no room to chase up the side. Compare to the OG where there were proper overhangs so a gladiator could find the contenders backs within easy reach. Despite her not clocking up a win (again), Comet seemed quick to recover.

It seems the producers wanted a Shaun win - hence Vipers DQ on Suspension Bridge and Steel not trying that hard to get him off Hang Tough (like why not throw his whole body weight onto Shaun?). There was also something a bit “my dads gonna kill me” in the way Shaun spoke in interviews when he lost something.

Gotcha 🤝🤝

I got the feeling Shaun's dad just over-romanticized his own stint on the show and probably preferred his son not doing too well. Not that my mind went through numerous DILF scenarios.

Really hyped up for this final though.

Watching on iPlayer. Seriously, shove that football game on BBC2 it's not even our A team, it's a throw all the reserves on and see what works. Anyway..

Bradley talking to Naomi about her age like she's NINETY YEARS OLD, not 40?! Get a grip

Can't believe I've totally forgot about that 90s roof skalextric event. Just seeing them elevate the edge brought it all back.

Apollo does look like an estate agent tbf

I really enjoy how the producers don't even hide how Legend is their favourite

I don't think our female runner up would have overtaken anyway, but massive shame she came off the beam.

Edit: was trying not to spoil the result, but realise I probably have. Oh well it's live now.
