Im enjoying Suspension Bridge being in the event mix. Admittedly all of yesterdays battles were quite short but the ones the week before we great and showed a few different approaches. Unlike Duel there can be an element of retreat and come back, whilst also the event doesn’t allow for any defensive given how close both combatants can get.
I counted three seconds head start on the wall. Really the problem with the wall is as it’s used for back projection, it’s just flat and single tracked thus there is nothing much a gladiator can do but go for the legs. It’s hard to climb higher as they risk getting kicked by the contenders and there’s no room to chase up the side. Compare to the OG where there were proper overhangs so a gladiator could find the contenders backs within easy reach. Despite her not clocking up a win (again), Comet seemed quick to recover.
It seems the producers wanted a Shaun win - hence Vipers DQ on Suspension Bridge and Steel not trying that hard to get him off Hang Tough (like why not throw his whole body weight onto Shaun?). There was also something a bit “my dads gonna kill me” in the way Shaun spoke in interviews when he lost something.
