The bubble isn't bursting, there's just fewer and fewer artists inside that bubble. The Oasis tour went in a flash, Glastonbury tickets were the most expensive ever and they were gone in minutes. Obviously there;s the knock on effect although I'm not sure of the crossover between Oasis and Liberty X/Hear'say.
 
I do think it's a big or go home mentality in both the audience and the industry. If you're a popstar, unless it's a big stadium show by Harry Styles, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, etc what hope do you have.

Is it like the Robbie Williams monkey film?

I'd have tested them with a handful of (much) smaller venues, tested demand with that and hopefully build some hype, and then go bigger (but not this big) if it all went to plan.

It seemed odd that Myleene gave that response about 'no concrete plans' or whatever it was when there clearly were. Perhaps she just had a bit more insight and was realistic about what may actually happen.
 
Maybe I'm vastly overestimating the intelligence of the live music industry, but I just cannot believe this would have gone through multiple negotiations and contract sign-offs without somebody stepping in and asking "Hang on a second, is there actually any tangible evidence of demand for this?"

My only conclusion beyond money laundering is that the Popjustice/Popsquare gays have become too powerful.
 
How has Take That pulled off a 17 date stadium tour this year? It’s like they have a blood oath with women of a certain age.

They could have done something so much more sensible like a sanctified 25 years on anniversary documentary of Popstars/The Rivals/Pop Idol on ITV1 coinciding with a Mighty Hoopla date, some inoffensive festival dates around the country - most importantly building up a live act reputation and then do a 8 date tour or something.

There must be huge implications from the venue if you don’t perform? Their argument would be “well you’ve cost us a potential booking for that date now”. Which makes me think why Robyn just went with it anyway?

But someone’s always willing to insure SOMETHING
 
Maybe they just need to take the hit now and build up a reputation for being great touring act like Take That have done
 
AI tells me the promoters take the biggest financial hit and the artist just receives a fee from the promoters. I guess there’s a bit of a gamble there where if you’re say Girls Aloud and the reunion tour ends up doubling in size you’re not getting paid as much as you would maybe like for the work BUT the promoters did take on the initial risk if it DIDN’T work out
 
She has a good point, people are just happy to experience things through their phone now be it concerts or watching someone’s trip to Thailand rather than the expense and effort of doing it themselves. Wouldn’t be surprised if acts move back to swing back to doing off live stream concerts with a limited audience like what Dua Lipa and Kylie did during Covid.
 
These and the Pussycat Dolls are the kind of acts that should be doing provincial gay prides and random relive the '00s events. Nobody wants to get their ass up and play Hull Pride anymore!

These acts had flash in the pan success! They had no long term fans! Who is lying to them and saying they can sell out venues of this size two decades after their last hit?
 
I think it’s quite telling that there’s no posts in here like “I got my ticket”. This forum should be full of their prime market, that and Kent mums who do weekend train trips into London sponsored my M&S G&T tinnies to see ABBA Voyage and Magic Mike.
 
If Mylene was a true mate she would have them on Loose Women weekly leading up to the first date.

Have the 00s produced much by the way of successful reunion acts? Are My Chemical Romance 90s or 00s, they did very well.
 
And they had a huge following and pretty much defined the EMO thing worldwide

Hear’Say were one hit wonder manufactured reality tv things in the UK.
