How would you describe/ define Moopy and its members?

One of our members was shagging a senior Tory politician, but I'm sure you know that. The picture of said poster was captioned with a reference to us as describing us as such. Not sure how they found that out actually. Wasn't able to find the link alas.

That makes sense. I didn't put two and two together because I didn't think Guido went that far back!

I mean, I'm not sure what keeps pulling me back to a forum that gew from what was ostensibly a music forum when there's not a cunt on here who could pick Steven Stapleton, claire rousay, Kelly Moran or anyone from The Fall apart from Brix Smith-Start out of a line up.

I think it's the level of intelligence. It's much higher than you get elsewhere.

That's going to be my Xmas quiz for you all: 20 pictures, you have to say whether or not they were a member of The Fall.

Oh God, most other forums are unreadable. Most of the time, the posts look like they’ve been typed using their forehead. The forums that DO contain well-constructed posts are usually so filled with impotent bile they make us look like the Christian fellowship.

Question 1, was this person in the Fall?

Moopy is like "Lost". I can't help but feel that we're all actually dead and working our way through some bizarre shared purgatory from which many of us are unable to escape.

THAT IS NOT WHAT LOST IS

You can talk about the hate vibe and the vitriol all you like but there’s no denying that moopy has an incredible sense of community. It’s done wonders for me this year, feeling lonely while living alone in lockdown. The feeling of familiarity, of feeling in touch with pop culture without having to delve into the horrors of celeb mags and buzzfeed. The humour and insight and the dare I say it emotion coming from a bunch of people who have a real knack of getting a point across. And moopy has time on its side now - so much history, in content and also between the members.

Where moopy’s maturity has succeeded is finding its balance between the on-the-knuckle tone while being inclusive and fun. The early years it would drift frantically from one extreme to the other; it benefited from it in some ways but was also its downfall. It could be overwhelming and cliquey. There is a camaraderie among the banter now - less toxic and more knowing. Moopy also feels like a one stop shop for music fans and music geeks... a place to channel your energy with things that your real mates just aren’t passionate enough about. You can loon and you can vent and you’re surrounded by people who will let you.

It’s helped me more than you’ll ever know.

This answer is very cute and is like if Ag held up a picture of 3-year old Moopy to you on the runway and asked what you would say

I'd dare say Moopy has been a lifeline for many of us at times.

As a stupid old cunt I quite like the fact that moopy keeps me in touch with THINGS YOUNG PEOPLE LIKE which are actually worth bothering with.

the number of times I’ve been able to join in office conversations and thought, “yep, read about that on moopy”

It really is.

As someone who hates tabloids and celeb mags and the Kardashians and I’m A Celeb and TOWIE and all that culture, I’ve never once come on moopy and felt dumbed down. Not in 17 years!

(Oh, except maybe when @dUb posts about his latest twink band. But he makes up for it in other ways.)
