Jessie Ware - What's Your Pleasure?

They've updated now - those tracks are in the 40-50k range

Thank goodness for that!!

I've lost track of the formats I've bought. I have the regular CD now, but pretty sure a signed vinyl and a white vinyl are winging their way to me also, plus the Amazon signed CD. I am such a sucker for signed stuff. My poor empty purse.

And there's still a cassette that I haven't ordered...

A bit of detail on this certified dUb fave swiped from PJ

After being so blown away by Spotlight I didn’t think she could top it but Remember Where You Are really is the most sublime track.

I love how through this lockdown one after another different types of gay queens have delivered for us with some of their very best work with Dua, Gaga and now this.

I think what I like best about this album is that despite the dance beats and 70s disco sound, it doesn’t feel REMOTELY clubby to me. It’s still so soft and intimate.

In my mind it feels like it would sound at it’s absolutely best soundtracking a semi-impromptu hazy early morning living room get-together (with a MOUNTAIN of gak). I kind of feel that’s the vibe Jessie was going for with the album too :D

I hope we get some ridiculous extended remixes of some of the tracks/a What’s Your Pleasure non-stop disco SUITE with added disco string overture :disco:

There’s a REALLY GOOD interview with Roisin Murphy here -

https://www.interviewmagazine.com/music/jessie-ware-roisin-murphy-music-album-disco

Interesting to see two female singers both have a TOTALLY different take on the same genre. I would never have compared them before. Roisin’s take on disco feels 100% at home in a club space as opposed to Jessie’s intimate take.

NOT JESSIE RELATED: but Roisin also reveals she’s been smoking a lot of weed and is working on reggae music :D Sinéad O’Connor WHO!

I think you can still get them from RecordStore UK: https://www.recordstore.co.uk/recor...d-Numbered-Signed-Album-Art-Print/6EN70000000

A tenner for the signed CD was too good to pass up on Amazon and I need to watch my pennies :shy:

Thanks BB! I went for the limited white vinyl in the end, I really have NO IDEA what I'd do with an A3 signed Jessie Ware art print :D I't's not gonna go on my wall so I don't even know where I'd store it :D

Gagged I'm buying a Jessie Ware vinyl in 2020, how times CHANGE!

3900 sold as of yesterday's mids. I'm sure that's almost entirely preorders and multiformats so it'll be interesting to see how many it sells over the week :eyes: top 5 with 6k could be on the cards.

What's the point in rating if you can't spread 16s around like a slut bottom at a post-lockdown orgy (while Jessie plays softly in the background)?

I'm so glad that my 2013 Jessie standom has been re-ignited. The debut album was so good that I was always disappointed that her follow-ups never really came close to matching it.

SO THIS!

First album + associated remixes : :disco:
Second album : keep the Cyril Hahn remix of Tough Love, give a shit about the rest, burn that horrible Ed Sheehan track
Third album : SORRY I AM ASLEEP aside from Selfish Love
Fourth album : :disco: :disco: :disco: :disco:

I’d honestly written her off as podcast host being her primary career.

Tough Love is amazing though. I like it way more than the debut which had plenty of filler.

This album is unquestionably on another level COMPLETELY - why have Pitchfork not reviewed it yet?

Hun, I can't tell if this is trolling but how can you not stan Keep On Lying, Champagne Kisses and Want Your Feeling at the VERY least?

Tough Love (in both forms) is a really incredible song.

I had no idea there was a Spanish version of Selfish Love :D what the fuck? how very 2001 of her

Tbh I haven’t revisited the second album in about FIVE YEARS so I don’t have a clue :D

She’s going to RESURRECT Imagine It Was Us for the tour isn’t she?!

DEAD!
