Nice to see Graham reflecting on everything he has lost (as he recently shared with multiple media outlets) due to his anti-trans agenda, and not at all doubling down on it and looking even more of a twat.
 
TBH rather than giving Gl!nner any more airtime I should be sharing this. An unashamed attempt by the now-evidently captured Equality and Human Rights Commission to remove certain aspects of recognition that trans men and women have under the Equality Act. Their Chair Baroness Falkner is an unashamed TERF - under her watch the EHRC has basically changed all of its positions on trans equality. I have had to explain at work (a policy role) that this is why I no longer fully trust these kinds of institutions to deliver fair and unbiased verdicts and advice.

While not removing the protection from discrimination on the basis of being trans, it would effectively class trans women as men and trans men as women in certain aspects of the law.



If Badenoch decides to move with this, this is where trans people are going to need allies the most. Anyone who has ever dunked on transphobes online should be shouting about this.

There's 0 way to prevent this from becoming a massive culture war battlefield and it's going to be an amazing exercise in tarnishing the brand in any possible scenario.

I overdid it in anger, and put a load of TERFs on a "TERFs / transphobes" list (which was visible to them)

They weren't very happy and accusing me of slander, putting me on "needs laptop checking, reported to FBI" lists etc, had to protect my account for now before it'd get out of hand.

I know anger and attacking isn't the right way in my part but fuck me these people are vile

The "leaked" memo was leaked for a reason. They're trying to have it both ways - pander to the terfs but tip a wink that they're just beating the Tories at their own wing. Aye,of course, that's why Rosie Duffield is still a member and Rachel Reeves is the fucking shadow Chancellor. Fuck off, Keir.
 
I want the Tories out at all costs but admittedly am going to have to hold my nose tightly if putting an X in Labour is the way to do it.

Honestly at this point they're all shite, if it wasn't for the constant need to fight off the Tories I'd just be spoiling the paper.
 
Rowling's new follower base is mostly concerned with making sure that Hermione is white as their main prerequisite for supporting a reboot, but it would take her actively putting her foot down and insisting on white-only casting in the role for her to be able to give them what they want at this point.

As for the Harry Potter series, I really do think she'll try and make a point by stuffing it with TERFs. Linehan is probably TOO toxic to get into the writer's room, but in front of the camera Amanda Abbington, Frances Barber and that queer from Gimme Gimme will be eagerly waiting by the phone no doubt!
 
Even aside from her being a bigot, the series still feels too fresh for a reboot. People have a lot of affection for the Alan Rickman version of Snape, or Robbie Coltrane version of Hagrid for example, so it feels like they're setting actors up for a fall.
