Kylie Netflix Documentary (1 Viewer)

I think it's more the fact that he seems to infiltrate her big moments in one way or another - her first BST Hyde park show, Glastonbury, that Time Magazine piece and now this.

I get that they are good friends but it's a bit much.

I guess it makes sense now why she didn't release a DVD/Blu-Ray when the live album came out.

CGYOOMH has been increasing daily streams over the last couple of weeks - it's gone from around 650k daily to just over 900k yesterday. And at 894k total, hopefully all this Netflix hype will see it hit a billion in the next few months.

I don't even know myself. :D All I know is that it's going viral because of some sort of dance thing happening on TikTok (not exclusively about her).

Its also being used throughout the trailer for 'Verity' some kind of cover of it, whilst not having the reach of Tiktok it really was quite prominent in the cinema yesterday when the trailer was shown twice!

Ooh just looked that up. Don't think it's a cover but rather a new remix:

Longer trailers are being played in the cinema too with more of the song, I wasn't paying attention as I was in and out but someone said it was a cover - sounds like its a new remix which is good too :disco:

A few things are happening at once:

  • The song is currently being reused in dance/fashion/glamour edits and nostalgic Y2K videos on TikTok and Instagram. One Reddit thread specifically mentions a Reel/TikTok trend where creators “shake their booty 3 times on beat” before the “set me free…” section kicks in.
  • TikTok tracking sites show the sound is still heavily active, with nearly half a million TikTok videos using it and hundreds of new uses daily.
  • The song has become one of those “eternal algorithm songs” — similar to tracks like Murder on the Dancefloor or Running Up That Hill — where younger audiences rediscover it and treat it as fresh.
  • It also benefits from being absurdly catchy and minimal. The “la la la” hook is instantly recognizable and works perfectly for looping short videos. Music critics have been calling it timeless for years.

And the streaming numbers are genuinely massive:

  • It’s still doing around 650k Spotify streams per day recently.
  • The track is close to 900 million Spotify streams overall.

Is the song from Tension II? I never delved. Just got a little excited thinking they had a decent dance pop duet (at long last).

I adore her, but she sure loves a hideous frock!

From this angle it looks like one of those kitchen aprons you wear with nothing else on.

Sidebar: Jason was quite hot in the late 90s; I saw a clip of him on the Jo Whiley Show (channel 4) and have had to reconsider everything.

She gets it right far more than she gets it wrong, but this is horrible. I don't think the angle helps, but even in the shot with Jason from the waist up it's grim. And that's without the horror of the waist down.

Time to flog my sealed Kiss Me Once then- don't care about it being a 2 vinyl set!

I sold mine a couple of years ago on eBay. I think I got nearly €400!

OUCH!

It won't go for anywhere near that now, but I'm not bothered about which pressing it is etc., just to have it on vinyl, so I'll happily flip and exchange for the new one.

Oh fab, I’m glad the vinyls are coming. It’s always seemed weird she doesn’t have them all out there given they sell well whenever she releases one. To finally get Light Years will be :disco:
