I remember Radio 1 had her in the studio when All The Lovers was released. I suspect that was the last time... Maybe this time though :disco:

I was just thinking that surely they have to playlist it if climbs next week?

I mean, they WON’T but they SHOULD.
 
Capital have, and R1 now playlist the Eurovision entrant which they didn’t used to do. I’m guessing because the younger generation are a bit more open minded that perhaps this kind of thing may become a little more regular?

Probably NOT mind :D

I am hoping there has been a bit of a turn. Now there is 1xtra, I know its been around ages but seems it has a bigger billing now, and also pop does seem a bit 'cooler' again compared to a few years ago, coupled with as you say the 'youngsters' seemingly open to anything, which is a good thing, should mean that they start playlisting people over 40?! :D

They are playing Beyonce, not sure about Pink?

I bet they playlisted Higher! :D
 
I was agog to discover they still play 30 Seconds to Mars, Jared Leto is 52!

They also support the Foo Fighters I believe. They never playlisted either of P!nk’s recent hits.

Is this sexist, or because they think these bands are still cool

Actually I have answered my own question, women can't be seen as cool over a certain age can they. Just awful but hopefully changing.

They do still playlist notable geriatric millennial Zara Larsson from time to time.
 
A quick note that it sold just over 10k this week outside of downloads. So just it’s streaming figures. 11k gets you #40 this week, so given streaming is rising (very quickly in the case of Apple) and with sales still going decently still I imagine she should remain stable next week. Or even rise if the playlists really kick in.

Radio 1 has always been sexist and, most importantly, also anti- pop. They got rid of Madonna when U2 were still all over their playlists.
