What are the predictions for next week charts? Do you think we realistically have a chance at Top20?
 
I've decided to subject this to the ultimate Gen Z litmus test and include it in the Current events section of my weekly pub quiz on Monday. :disco:

Which pop diva is enjoying her biggest chart hit in over a decade with her meme-worthy comeback single Padam Padam?

I'll report back on Tuesday with the HOT STATS on how many of the teams got it right.

I don't think it means too much in the great scheme of the chart now (let's wait for the streaming figures for that) but it does speak to tenacity and staying power :disco:
 
Not to be a party pooper but she's been knocked off by some Taylor Swift song on my feed.

No that was 19.

My original prediction was NUMBER 32, which I wasn't far off from. In fact, I was the only one at the start of the week predicting even a top 40 placement. But I could see what was happening with the single and knew it was going to be a lot bigger than Say Something and Dancing.

Just like @lolly inferred, the iTunes dominance was a key indication as to what was happening and when the first 24 hours of iTunes sales figures came through, I knew we were looking at something big.
 
I slightly overegged my number 19 revised prediction as I mistakenly thought the extended mix had also been released on iTunes.

I wonder when we'll get some proper remixes? Kind of hoping they hold off a couple of weeks, but I wouldn't be surprised if they throw one or two out earlier if it starts to lose momentum.
 
Mark my words, this is going to be a proper global hit and probably the 2nd/3rd biggest hit of her career because of its cross-generational appeal. It's going to take off in America, where I think it will peak at around number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as reaching the top 10 in many other territories including the UK and Italy.
