Kylie - Padam Padam (1st single, May 18th)

Can this become an emoticon too please? :winning:

The only thing that can possibly knock it off this year is Dannii's gay singal next week

80 (-11) on UK spoti yesterday. it's quite normal for new/taking off songs to fall at the weekend (people playing older/familiar music at parties etc) so quite a good hold actually.

according to Beyoncé them Karens just turned into terrorists, and if they aren't on the Padam train yet I guess Queen B told no lies

I can't imagine it, Padam and a good spread, cheese and pineapple on sticks with tinfoil, what more could people want in the cost of living crisis. If Padam is not on the playlist then I struggle to see if people could call it a 'party'?
More like a wake.

I do love the extent of your knowledge on these things! :disco:

Kylie and Geru are both in Monaco right now.

I don't want another arm wrestle. But I'd love a pic.

Last week's number one on 'The Big Top 40' was Loreen, and Ellie Goulding's Miracle is number two, so I'm assuming it's chosen by some withered old queen (and probable moopy poster) working at Capital :disco:

"The Official Big Top 40 is compiled from a mix of Apple Music streaming and iTunes sales data from across the week, plus airplay data from the radio stations which the show is broadcast on."

Imagine the gay fantasy where Kylie knocks Loreen off the top of the actual charts :disco:

You tell em Nance!

I'm assuming there's just the one trophy which they immediately take back after that week's number one has had her picture with it :disco:

#15 on Apple Music now :disco:

She will have a shot at the top twenty this week (though the three Taylor releases plus Dua and J Hus may make it quite competitive), particularly if Spotify stabilises around the #60-#70 area.

I love the rules for this 'Big top 40' - if WE play you then you are in OUR chart :disco:

I mean, I’m not complaining but HOW and WHY are we suddenly comparing this to the new release by the OVERWHELMINGLY biggest star in the world? :D

I think it’s more that if she’s nabs three top twenty positions (unlikely now) it makes it that much harder for Kylie given she is floating around the #20 mark.

Talking about chart geeks, because I am so out of the chart rules etc, is Padam ever going to be a feasible top 10? Or are we looking at seeing that it can stay top 20/40 for a number of weeks, which will be a big achievement in itself?

The next few days are crucial. To be honest, based on today’s dip/the general trend of older stars grabbing hits, the latter is much more likely. It really needs to be leaping into the top 20/30 on Spotify this week if it has any proper crossover smash potential.
