The whole Babylon sounding like Vogue thing I'm finding a bit much. I mean yes of course I can see that the some of the production elements sound like Shep Pettibone's work in the late 80s/early 90s, but that's where all similarities end for me. They are such wildly different songs in every other respect.

To me it's not so much that they sound alike, but more so the fact they sound like they were both created for the sole purpose of voguing. It's all in the tempo and the very specifically chosen synths.

"Plastic Doll" and "Enigma" are lagging a bit behind the others but neither are offensive Gaga material. I enjoy the Chromatica interludes too. The segue into "911" in particular is quite something.

I guess I see a slight similarity in the style but then we might as well say "Vogue" rips off "Rapture" if we are clutching straws that much.

:D It’s not nice, is it. You’ll have to excuse the manners of these girls. Some them didn’t even go to school and to be honest the vast majority live in locked wards so they’ll probably carry on begging for snaps of your gina :(

I like Sine, even the garbage and pointless d&b breakdown at the end, I’d LOVE a version without Elton.

I love Sine, until Elton comes in? Its very jarring and not required at all.
 
Love Me Right is clearly a leftover from the A Star Is Born sessions. And it's brilliant!



She's so lovely here on Graham Norton. Not a peep about the music of course.
 
Now just watch the rubbish gays force themselves to like half the GUNK on this album.

I'm so confused by this album. I THINK I like it but there's a lot wrong. You know she can do so much better. Yet listening this morning it's growing immensely and it really is consistent across the board. Hmm...

The GOOD: Back to upbeat bops, lots of them, the 90s dance inspiration, not as many duds as she usually chucks on to agitate us, those interludes, the artwork.

The BAD: Sounds a bit cheap in places despite costing more than the wealth of Nigeria to make I imagine, there aren't enough big Gaga choruses here, in fact no 10s at all from me on the song front, her voice gets lost in the mix at times and after ASIB I was expecting a bigger showcase vocally - yes she still sounds great but something feels off.

I just don't know...but, it keeps revealing its charms. It feels more like an EXPERIENCE where you cautiously enjoy yourself but with eyes firmly on the fire exit at all times. After she's faffed about for seven years, I think I'll take it.

Yeah, it's good. Reminds me of Born This Way but nowhere NEAR the peaks of that monumental construction.
