I think Honeymoon is generally a slept on album by her fans (and the public at large).

It got good reviews I seem to remember but for some reason it's never clicked with me like all her other albums have...

I think the album should've ended on "Blackest Day" but "Swan Song" is the strongest of the last three. But that's not saying much!

there's one moment in particular in Swan Song that I love to DEATH, where she plays with the melody for the final repetition of the chorus

and I will never sing again...
you WON'T WORK a-NOTHER DAY

it just has this really unexpected blast of urgency like she's finally awoken from her xanax slumber and she wants to get her LIFE TOGETHER somewhere that's NOT CALIFORNIA. it's a bit of a GUT PUNCH somehow.

when, Lana? when? I unashamedly lover this rendition though and think it's a fab closer. dazzling production that comes totally full circle harking back to the title track. the last four songs really are their own superior little EP.

If the album didn't end at Blackest Day, I think an instrumental interlude along the same lines as the title track would have been a fitting closer. There is a disconnect between the opening few songs and this cover and I don't like it.

I don't even dislike her version. I just don't see the point. B-side / deluxe / iTunes bonus track material? Sure. But not to close the album proper!
