I think Aphrodite has higher highs (obv) but some of it is really boring and flat. pretty much an album of two halves for me.
there's some real DIRGE like Put Your Hands Up, Cupid Boy, Too Much and Can't Beat the Feeling that were straining way too hard to be Kylie classics but without any of the effortlessness or joy. but I love all the singles (including Better Than Today), title track, Illusion, Looking For an Angel, Everything is Beautiful...
I don't think the producers (including Stu) did a great job overall with the production or with her voice.
I would've said for a while KMO is the better album and in a way I think it's more imaginative/trying to be something more, but it just sounds a bit... small. Feels So Good, If Only and Into the Blue are the ones for me but there are stinkers too and it feels very "made an album because it was time".
