Little Mix - Sweet Melody + New Album Confetti

Apt for current times! :D

I was reading an article yesterday that suggests that fun, more escapist pop has been become more popular during lockdown as people try and get some of the clubbing / holiday vibes they haven't actually been able enjoy for real this summer.

So this could do well!

Just the title "holiday" coupled with many people who have had to canceled theirs made me chuckle. But yes, you're definitely right. I've definitely been seeking way more happy summery stuff recently. I think we're trying to create a summer where we won't properly have one this one. Here for it!

Break Up Song was their best in a long while so hopefully this follows suit.

Break Up Song I found underwhelming. This looks promising

Absolutely love Break Up Song. Hoping for good things from this. Please no more Bounce Back tunelessness.

Oh yes. That sounds like a proper straight up pop song. :disco:

I'd love to see the girls' group chat bitching about Taylor

it's all perfectly fine, but also feels extremely generic and weirdly muted. none of it really pops off. their latest stuff has a feel of being CHEAPLY PRODUCED

I like it but agree it’s a bit void in the personality department.

It feels that most of current music releases are produced with their main goal being how easily teens can put parts of them into a TikTok video.
All I kept thinking was people inventing silly choreographies while dancing to this.
Can’t say I like it though. Very generic for my liking.

I do like it, though its not anything outstanding. But it really reminds me of something, especially that drop bit in the chorus. And yes Jesy’s voice is GRATING.

I was expecting to love it but I DON’T. It’s like they have thrown everything in to the secret potion and left us all underwhelmed with NOTHING.

They seem to have lost a load of momentum but I am glad they have not gone down the solo route yet as they will always be more successful as a group and I think they know that.

I don't dislike it (I mean I don't LIKE it much either), but the main issue I have with Little Mix now is that for a long time I thought they had a strong identity and presence, but for the last couple of years or so, it's all so anonymous. And yes, Jesy really needs to learn how to use her voice better again.

I think Little Mix are savvy enough to realise they are stronger together than apart. I can't see any of them doing huge amounts solo - even Perrie who has their biggest IG following by far.

They've absolutely lost momentum though, although curiously seemed to still be a really strong-selling live act before Covid-19.

I really like it but I don't LOVE it. They're doing very well on iTunes, will probably need a video or some TV time before it picks up on streaming. Probably a #15 smash next Friday and will probably climb into Top 10 sometime next month

I don't think they've lost momentum so much as they've lost Syco. It was never going to be as straightforward. Frankly they still feel relevant a year on and that's a good position to be in.

Now that dear ol Jess Glynne has been cancelled, I do HOPE that Jet 2 DO THE NEEDFUL and upgrade to this JAM

that sounded a bit limp and messy on first listen. I am sure it will grow after a few listens but not what I was expecting.

*Put's Say Something back on LOOP before I sashay back to Virgin Active* :disco:

#9 in the first mids, probably looking at 15-20 come Friday

This hasn’t made it onto the funky playlist, probably the first single by them in a couple years not do so

It’s a nice bop. But I was wanting more. Funny enough the anticipation for this far outweighed Kylie, but Kylie has definitely produced the better single.

I like it but it's just another Neiked Sexual rewrite.

Oh it's out! Well I like it a lot, but it sounds like they're scared to add too much music to it in case people realise it's not far off Do What You Want. It needs to pop like its popping a cork. Are remixes still a thing these days?

You're no the first to bring this to my attention, and I hope you won't be the last either :D

Good remix, which samples Liberty X
