This is really good, just stuck on the (thirty five minute!) deluxe CD this morning. Lou really went full on pop bops.

Only Dancer is glorious, it really goes to that KM emotopop place.

She had a few things to get off her chest on Don't Kill My Vibe... I would have made that the album closer.
 
Whilst this album is a little bit The Kyliefication of Louise here and there I do think it’s a very decent album, and impressive she’s put this out at this stage in her career. She was joking that she’ll cry if this enters at #11 for the third time in a row in an interview yesterday. Hopefully it can go top 10 but I don’t think she could do much more than she has in terms of promo and the end product at this stage of her career.

As FF says the album flies past, I notice there’s now a 20 track expanded CD available on her site with the extended mixes of all the tracks on it.

Oh, and I’d have had L.U.V on the main album. Diamonds is fine as a bonus track.

Respect to her for leaving no shenanigan unturned in trying to get that top 10 album but I won't be making an additional purchase.

Will have to give them a listen later. Can't believe the never ending rush of Louise currently being unleashed.
 
You have to laugh.

Why is Only Dancer very Kylie coded? It has none of the same songwriting or production teams, does it? In any case, this is a nice consistent body of work. Follow Me is a highlight.
 
#5 has sold 4,300 odd so she is less than that. Assuming around 4k so far puts it in trouble of missing the top 20 sadly. With a bit of luck it’ll manage to slide in.

Don't underestimate those Radio 2 album of the week prompted sales! :shy:

Is there a generally accepted estimate for first week sales from midweeks? If she is at approx 4k now, is 5k unreasonable to expect? That should at least secure her Top 20 unless she's really unlucky.
 
For albums like Sabrina who is a streaming act, her 4.5k will probably double. For fanbase acts it depends how their sales hold up, but I’d have a guess she would be lucky to add more than a few hundred :(
 
Depressing but hardly surprising. As I said somewhere above, without a major record label backing her, there really isn't much more, if anything, she could have done.

Clutching at straws but four of the top 5 are clearly going to be hugely front-loaded too (Sparks, When The Rivers Meet, Skunk Anansie and Orbital) so depending how close she is maybe one or more of those could fall past her?

But yeah, she did all she could and she's made an album she should be incredibly proud of at this stage of her career. I'm not sure she'll be able to justify splashing out for producers of this calibre again sadly...
 
The deluxe is down to £4.99 on iTunes if anybody is inclined to toss her a sympathy sale. :bruised:
 
If she's only going to add a few hundred, Sparks (6.7k), When Rivers Meet (5.1k) and Skunk Anansie (5k) have probably already done enough to beat her, I'd have thought. Orbital (4.3k) possibly may fall below her (?)

The bigger concern is those below her who will hold up far better over the week.

To be fair, if the update includes sales up until yesterday she might be ok as we are a day later due to BH. But I’d guess it probably wouldn’t, or at least not full streaming sales.
 
Abba Gold has been bouncing around between #11 and #19 for a couple of months on sales of around 4 - 4.5k, so I think she'll be fine for top 20. Looks like a few hundred sales either way may make all the difference.

Yeah that’s definitely a great result. It’ll always get slammed when the final two days streaming get added at once but surely she will hold top twenty.

I imagine a lot of her sales come from her own site, Banquet etc. And they all get counted on dispatch I think, which will likely happen in runs.
 
I've never heard of Banquet before this thread. Just had a look and chuckled at the fact that the signed copy of both the CD and vinyl are ONE WHOLE PENCE more than the unsigned versions :D
