The only still-alive ones that i'll miss (that are in danger) are HMV and Waterstones. I'm also a bit sad about Hawkins Bazaar because it was my favourite shop when i was a kid. That and The Gadget Shop (R.I.P.)
And visiting Smiths is a REALLY unpleasant experience. Mounds of unappealing shit with round discount stickers on them. I'm sure it used to be much nicer.

I thought it's problem was more in its NAME, it's TERRIBLE TERRIBLE logo which seems very stuck in the 90s and I think it's women's clothes too. But the men's clothes seemed mostly ALRIGHT. I know there are people on here with bottomless wallets but as far as cheap but not TOO BAD looking stuff went, it wasn't awful
