Delivery is FINE.

I somewhat expect it won't be one of our branches.

I’m still agog they closed completely in the UK, all of the major fast food places stayed open here (where they had drive through facilities). It has been a godsend when bored of pasta for the umpteenth time.

Greggs trialled reopening in the Newcastle area, but have apparently abandoned it.

LOL I just read that they abandoned plans due to fears thousands would flock to them. At least you can get them frozen to bake at home from Iceland.

Their breakfasts, when hungover. are the only thing i’m bothered about.
Boo

I can't imagine it would be being anything other than a right mess. When Five Guys re-opened up here, social distancing went right out the window. There were mobs of people gathering outside and the police had to get involved. All for a manky burger.

But WOULD YOU? I can’t say that I would and I’m a right filth pig. I’d rather wait until they open properly again so I can pop in and feast on that tender pastry and moist, nutritious filling, all served up by one of the lovely Greggs hostesses :disco:

Yep because hundreds of people turned up :D

I can see the entrance to one of the greggs from the window of my workplace and its so strange seeing it closed considering it never has less than 20 people in it at a time. Greggs really is the Mcdonalds of Newcastle.

Theres 4 Greggs in Newcastle on the same bloody street!

and we demand more :disco:

I go to McDonalds a lot.... too much.

I also have a rule that if I get home from work later than 9pm then I treat myself to a Maccy D's... but this merely encourages me to stay at work later. :D Not sure it works.

I always have a Chicken Select meal (just 3) with a Double Cheeseburger on the side. :) HAPPY MEMORIES. :(

As I stumble back home at 3am I do enjoy a chicken select meal it has to be said

I'm a long-term vegetarian, but I love Big Mac's SO MUCH. I SO WISH they would just slap a quorn burger in them or something - THEY WOULD SELL!

The vegetarian "burger" at the moment is just 2 vegetable finger things slapped in a bun with some lettuce and mayo. It's SO SHIT!

McDonald's veggie options are really quite terrible. That said, I suppose at least they're actually vegetarian unlike Burger King's Quorn-cooked-in-beef-grease burger :zombie:

Isn't it the same with all the big chain places? Veggie options are dire until you make it to Nandos and can get a beautiful Beanie burger.

Unless you're in Ireland and can get a Chopped.

Reopening on 13th May. Thank fuck.

No wraps OR breakfasts.

We can't just have it all can we?
McDonalds (Drive Thru only) reopened last week. People were queuing like they did for bog roll a month ago.

I try not to dip below LEON on the fast food pyramid these days.

I think I've been to McDonalds twice in the last 5/6 years. I've just never found the appeal. Whenever I've been, the place has been grotty as fuck which puts me right off.

My sister who used to work for McDs had friends arrive yesterday with a ton of stock that they were throwing out, so she offered to treat us all to Chicken Select wraps yesterday.

I declined but the intention was right.

How much does delivery cost? It seems like it would be proportionately such a huge part of the cost that I wouldn't do it.

I actually prefer going into them now, considering they are all automated and you don't need to talk to anyone.

It is fucking AWFUL. The old one was really nice and was made of curried vegetables. The new one just doesn't WORK in a bun. In Sweden they have a McVegan which is made from soya protein and is much nicer. I wish they'd bring that here.

Oh it’s well disgusting. And so DRY! I had it a while ago as a so-called healthy option and wished I’d got a double cheeseburger (or two) instead

Actually, a budget suggestion for you pennywise mums as an alternative to McD’s scabby vegetable burger is a Lidl’s spicy bean burger, mayonnaise (Hellman’s if the housekeeping can stretch to it, ladies) and sliced tomatoes in one of their paninis. LOVELY

Whereas the Burger King Rebel Whooper is a REALLY GOOD meat alternative. (Yes it's not technically veggie cos of the grills blah blah blah)

2002 was my last McDonalds. Sadly I did have a Burger King thing ("chicken" nuggets) in some North England petrol station complex thing last year (it felt like I was walking into a Victoria Wood wonderland) when I hadn't eaten all day and had to have something.

Oh don't get me wrong i FUCKING LOVE A BIG MAC. But I was also getting into rebel whoopers before lockdown. And halloumi burgers. Made me feel like I was eating a healthier alternative when I most certainly WAS NOT.
