Morning Moopy!

Woke up to the news that my first serious boyfriend died of a heart attack aged 50. We were together for 2.5 years when I was 23-25ish, but I hadn't seen him in about 8 years (mutual friend's wedding) and not for ages before that. We weren't enemies, but had nothing to do with each other- not even Facebook friends, so I don't quite know how I feel, but it's all terribly surreal.

The worst thing about it is his boyfriend and him went out for a dinner for their best friend's 50th birthday, when they got back, the boyfriend popped out to the shop and when he came back found him dead on the kitchen floor. The amount of "what ifs" in that situation are hideous.

Anyway, HAPPY MONDAY everyone!

But it’s okay as I’m on the phone to LISLE as we speak

Oh that's tragic, I'm sorry to hear it :( My cousin's wife went in a similar manner a few years ago, also around that age, though in her case it was an aneurysm rather than a heart attack. The idea of someone seeming perfectly fine then just being wrenched away so quickly is terrifying.

Yeah, it's just the suddenness of it all. It's very, very strange.

Sorry to hear that, Shee. It's a very strange experience to have someone who was a key part of your life for a while suddenly wrenched out of the picture and 50 is no age.

To cheer everyone up, here's what former indie hero now anti-vax, conspiracy theorist wanker Ian Brown thought was worth £40+ of people's money last night...

Here's another clip. All the vocal prowess and personality of a breadstick.

This was in one of the Ian Brown threads on Twitter and it made me laugh like a drain.

I know listening to other people’s dreams is the worst but last night I was in some sort of run-down but spacious university office-looking place, where @Ag went to raise a formal complaint with GOD. I was worried he would get too angry so I was trying to help him.

There was also a later part where I was living some sort of bleak gay history movie where I walked into a room of dead gays. Fun

Sitting having a takeaway pizza in my almost totally empty living room, everything else is in boxes in the bedroom ready for moving tomorrow. Not really sure how I feel, I've lived here for eight years (apart from the one year where I was cohabiting/an evil landlord) so it's going to be quite weird!

I know that feeling @COB, but for me it’s cos I hate change. Even when change is for the best.

It’s amazing how easily the mind adapts. No matter how much I hate the thought of leaving something behind, I get over it so quickly. I think it’s a defence mechanism. You train yourself that the past is the past. Even if it doesn’t feel like you’re ready for it at the time

The worst bit is done, packing. The rest is fun!
