Monday wraps up a building

Not really in the mood for working today, which coincides with me being fucking stacked.

Morning! Back in work today, they’ve confiscated all of our fans and it’s fucking boiling. Plus the law doesn’t specify an upper temperature threshold so it can get as hot as it likes and they still don’t have to send us home no matter how uncomfortable we are. SPRING BREAK!

bank holiday today AND Friday :disco: three day work weeks are the future

He's packed and he's stacked, especially in the back
Brother wanna thank your mother for a butt like that

Morning! Currently en route to work. 40 minute walk so far. Stopping off for a coffee before braving the final 10. It’s quite a pleasant way to begin the day, in June, fuck off if you think I’m gonna do this in October.

Strip off, like.

11 BLUE FOOTED BOOBIES

God I bloody had the worst sleep last night, never got to sleep until 4am

I am a zombie today :zombie::zombie:

Blue-footed boobies are a straight 13/10.

I remember thinking they'd been invented for the purposes of Spyro The Dragon and being AGOG when I found out they were real.

Just spent about 45 minutes in the queue outside the bank. Longest one I've been in since this started.

I've just been for a bike ride to pick up some free tomato plants for my garden. Thats probably the most wholesome thing I've done on a Monday morning for a long time.

I am feeling quite INVIGORATED today. I went out for a run this morning, blitzed the house and have filled the pool in the garden so I can head in and out to cool down throughout the day.

HAPPY MONDAY MOOPY!!

I see the pollen is being an almighty prick today. Fuck it I'm going out anyway.

I got up in a grump because I was kept awake last night by a "Lockdown? WHAT LOCKDOWN?" party down the road but have begun to perk myself up, with a MARVELLOUS lunch of leftover BBQ'd bits and bobs from yesterday (tuna, sweetcorn, mushrooms, asparagus, potato salad and hummus, basically), I've sold about £90 of stuff on Discogs overnight and have been told my formal job offer letter is coming today, so I can finally hand my fucking notice in.

HAPPY MONDAY LOVES :disco:

I'm off work today and the neighbours have decided to have a not socially distanced party with each other in the garden. They're playing some pretty good music but it's so loud :(

I need to move to a house in the middle of no where.

This is the fucking problem with furlough- lots of cunts have LOADS OF PAY and LOADS OF FREE TIME. I think it's going to get WORSE before it gets BETTER.

Well one of the neighbours is working just shift work so this is his day off. But yes, I do agree. Some of my team that are still furloughed are very blatantly telling us they don't want to come back, making up excuses not to come back, and then posting photos of themselves on the beach/in the garden/drinking gin at 10am.

But they can. That's the issue.

I've just unfurloughed lots of people this morning and one has already kicked off because I won't let him use his remaining week's holiday before the end of June on single days- all on Fridays.

It's a relief to know it's happening in all businesses I guess.

We wanted to unfurlough a Receptionist this week but she said she couldn't come back this week because she had booked a week's holiday.

Shes just had 7 weeks off and can't go anywhere anyway. But that's fine. Take another week off when we're desperate for staff.

One woman has refused to come back because her husband is asthmatic and we "can't guarantee 100% he will be safe". Even tho he is still working every day in his job.

My company are doing everything they can to keep staff safe, no clients in the building, FFP2 masks for everyone, plastic divided between staff, 2 metre rules in place, washing stations everywhere. But people are making every excuse not to come back, even gloating that they're so brown and relaxed, to the team that are working their arses off trying to keep the company from going under.

It's a fucking joke. And if we end up making redundancies, I know who will be the first to go.

Someone can correct me if I'm out of order but is this not a bit :manson: or does that depend on his job?

He works in a factory, where I already know there's no social distancing measures in place. Plus their daughter lives with them and her boyfriend visits from the mainland most weekends.

In which case, she can pretty much fuck off and get her arse back tae work.

Well exactly. We are expecting her to come back. She's told us where she wants to work (a branch on her own) but that's not practical for us so she will be coming back to the main branch but if she says she's shielding, we will shield her. She will work upstairs in an office on her own and won't be allowed downstairs to talk to other staff. She has her own computer, phone and pdq machine so can do her job without coming in to contact with anyone :)

She's not fecking shielding, she's just throwing terms around and hoping no-one notices. :D

We're starting to get calls from people who are due back after the shielding - we've told them all to see out the original 12 weeks. We're in a slightly tricky position in that we're in Scotland and England and furlough is completely controlled by Westminster.

Do your shielding people want to come back to work?

If you're shielding, won't you have a letter from your GP or the government saying you are? I've had to get confirmation for home deliveries of medication and the like.

Variable. We only have one outright refusal so far but that's not for me to deal with.

If you're shielding, won't you have a letter from your GP or the government saying you are? I've had to get confirmation for home deliveries of medication and the like.

Well, this ties in with what I'm wondering...is it, essentially, up to the honesty of the individual to say that they've had the text message to say they don't have to shield any more? Surely something as confidential as that wouldn't be shared with the employer?

Yeah you will. But I've got one Receptionist who has mild asthma and has chosen to shield but not received anything telling her to do so so we're unsure what to do with her.

But the one whose husband is shielding we've asked to see a copy of the letter (don't need any personal information) but she's refused.

I guess I have the (in this case) luxury of access to people's medical records and GPs to know if they are spouting shite...
