Giving Gloworm a 4 was HORRIBLE, but I'm fairly certain it won't need the points as much as my 5s do.

If High Energy doesn't qualify I'm sending the boys round and I don't mean the Vengaboys.

Now that I spot Ruff Riderz, I'm remembering a rather uncomfortable follow up moment on totp. Poor Patti sidelined by a background dancer:

Here she is with live vocals that leave her replacement for dust:

Does anyone have an mp3 or youtube link to the original 1993 recording with Patti's vocals?

OMG I’ve just remembered the section in that Armin remix of ‘Rapture’ which absolutely slays me EVERY TIME and it’s the breakdown and chord changes from 05:16 onwards. @ButterTart can you hear me? This is so getting a whopping great FIVE :disco:

I'm giving it a listen as we speak - I don't think I've EVER heard this.

I think I only heard it some time after the event; it was never on any of the UK CD releases (although the Dutch appear to have got a CD version of it, according to Discogs). I loved the song anyway but this takes it into a whole new realm. Absolutely fantastic

It was me. It’s such a special dance track. You can come round mine for predrinks.
It really is :disco: .. it shits on any of my nominations. Have the bubbles on ice because there is no way this ain't featuring on the only Top 40 that matters this Friday night.

I don't think I actively knew it until these evening. I probably did, but drugs.
There used to be an indie dance store near me way back in the day and I used to buy a batch of dance singles each week for 79p each without knowing them necessarily to put together a playlist for us all to drink to before heading out and this was in one of the piles I bought which is how I discovered it. It just missed the top 40 a couple of times. I definitely heard it a couple of times in the clubs but it wasn’t a staple.

She's in an ABBA tribute band now.

I don’t think this would have been nominated because you can’t really dance to it (although watch me go - interpretative shapes ahoy :disco:) but oh my God this is so amazing and beautiful and yes we have ACTUAL SOBS BEI ZU

Surely it was nominated

This is like a happysad thread. It’s great to hear the tunes but making me miss those great times when most of these were out. Not that I don’t have great times now but it’s msking me pine a bit for yesteryear and reminding me how quickly time passes.

Cafe Del Mar was indeed nominated, so you've that to look forward to.

Completely with @BoysForSeles on the happysad thing. This sort of music just doesn't exist in the mainstream anymore, so a huge part of the emotional connection to them is the nostalgia. Maybe when this Moopy Meet happens, we should just rent out a village hall and take pills while listening to a Ministry of Sound annual.

Anyway, this is what I came to share. I cannot believe I forgot it, this is exactly the sound I cannot get enough of. Rapino Bros were such a treat.
