1995, Italy, No. 5 smash! The first of two top 50 contenders from this Inappropriately named Italo dance act. This one features British vocalist Sandy Chambers – which sounds like an ailment picked up at a nudist beach – and frontwoman Olga Souza prancing around a disused tube station in the video. It’s a cover of ‘Babe Babe’ by Joy and Joyce, who sound like really bitchy Gala Bingo regulars, and was itself covered by Sunblock in 2007, again featuring Sandy.
 
And the better Corona track finishes in the lower position.

The performance of 'cold chills down my spine' in this is one of my favourite line readings of the whole rate.
 
I understand when we don't have videos is because we get a better version, right? Not that it matters.
 
If Calvin Harris had only ever done one song, it would be the best dance track ever. As it is, he badly needs to learn some new production techniques.

2011, UK/Barbados, No. 1 smash! Lanky tosspot Calvin Harris and his Cuprinol tan are back again, this time featuring that Rihanna who’s no better than she ought to be. This was back in the days when she used to bother with choruses. Leona Lewis and Nicole Scherzinger both claim to have been offered it first. Agyness Deyn provides the opening voiceover in the video, which was filmed in Northern Ireland.

Olga did not discriminate which version she lipped to either.

For years I thought the lyric was "corr, chills" and not "cold chills", but it's still a non invented yet number out of 10 anyway. And the 2nd video they shot for this is one of the very best for 90s dance.

He HAS only ever done one song, just with a succession of vocalists he's unworthy of on hand to make make them all sound just different enough not to draw suspicion.

Oh, Children really is far too low. Winner of the coveted 'not bothering with a vocalist' subcategory, I believe.
 
I think it took me about 2 years before I actually listened to We Found Love. More fool me because this is basically Calvin Harris as the continuation of JX to my ears. Thank god this got snatched from Leona's hooves, Rihanna and her unexplained voice really conveys the stark euphoria of it all.

1995, Italy, No. 2 smash! This ending up lower than ‘One & One’ might be the upset of the evening. Miles is a dream trance pioneer, and this was written as a set-ender for trance nights in Italy to calm attendees and reduce the chance of car accidents on the way home. The composition was inspired by child victims of the Yugoslav war, and Robert Miles died in 2017. Depressed yet?
