Moopyvision 2000-2009: Round 2 - Estonia, Germany & Poland RESULTS

God what on EARTH was the thought process behind that Once In a Lifetime performance? :D

Infectiously poppy earworm about the vibrancy of youth? Let's have her ROOTED TO THE SPOT while dressed head to toe in DIRT GREEN.

Bizarre. A true testament to the song that it did as well as it did regardless.

Also a testament to the hat. I don’t normally approve of hats indoors.

I'll never quite understand the Everybody win. It looks and sounds like something the UK would chuck out during a particularly LOW MOMENT.
Anyone who criticises No Dream Impossible or Lindsay’s Grattan tracksuit needs to bear in mind that every aspect of the winning performance was so much worse.

I feel like very few of Suntribe's current family and friends have any idea that this was a chapter in their lives.

As the Suntribe performance abandoned any semblance of musicality or basic professionalism, I found myself wondering what on earth it could have beaten in an Estonian national selection.

I should have known...

Quite like this actually! It still would have flopped, but perhaps with a scrap of dignity

Genuinely quite frightened by Gerli Padar. She looks like she'd fuck you up.

Also had she just come off a run on Strictly or something? The choreo is genuinely near-identical to Samba Sambero. :basil:

Good news: there’s a cover of “Eighties Coming Back” on Spotify by none other than Dave Benton :disco: :disco: :disco:

It's a testament to Estonia's Nordic healthcare system that only one of the Leto Svet men is now dead.

If it was a Macedonian entry none of them would have seen out the 2010s.

I too never really understood the Estonian victory but as I get older I kind of get it - it’s quite uplifting and a reminder of a youthful joie de vivre

Of all the 2001 duets (3?), Never Ever Let You Go was really head and shoulders above the rest.

I was pleased to learn earlier this week that chipmunk-voiced 2001 German rep Michelle followed up her Eurovision success with DAS DISCO FOX ALBUM :disco:

She'd just won the Estonian equivalent, the dancer was her partner (and boyfriend (!)). I assume that's the main reason she won the NF, which was actually pretty decent (and included Vanilla Ninja who were generally expected to win)

I'd quite like to see a remake of Whatever Happened To Baby Jane starring Corinna May and Lou.

The green was supposed to represent YOUTH and being rooted to the spot is the best you could hope from Ines at the time.:eyes:

Just so you know, I will be voting but I’m trying to get up the courage to listen to the Polish songs.

Just voted. I'm going to hell for one of my votes.

Any Ines fans should also be aware of the same song in a slightly different flavour:

If I don’t give a 12 to Poland, may I have an extra one when we get to Finland?
