Nice to see Rebirth looking good. Fallout 4 launching as a code in a box when game key cards exist is an interesting (not good) choice. I’ll probably grab it as the lady is a big F4 fan and I’ll just surprise her with the noises one day, she’ll come investigating!

How strange for Nintendo Life to be the lowest score on a list.

Be that as it may, can't wait to watch some reviews and pretend to myself for 5 whole minutes I'm not going to buy it.

That could be one of the European IGNs as the IGN youtube channel has no review uploaded as yet. Edit: no it's mainline IGN.

I can't stand that Stealth person - they hound people who work in videogames with PMs in the hope of getting to leak things and position himself as having insider knowledge.

Rumour from Nate the Hate:

Summer: new Starfox

Holiday game: Ocarina of Time remake.

No 3D Mario

I'd never even heard of some secret playtest game they've had a few times and taken down all internet trace of. If google image is correct then it looked like some non-appealing Minecraft type thing.

Price increase of roughly £50 September. You'd think they'd introduce it a wee bit earlier and pull focus from it with a much anticipated Direct expected in June (the phantom E3 slot). It would certainly explain why they've announced the bare minimum of games coming until July.

The next Dragon Quest title will be unveiled by Square 27 May so Japan (who get the price increase later this month) seems very well attended to save for Pokemon coming next year, so the holiday game to push sales is still very much open to speculation and an OOT remake (which I'm assuming will have a super stylised look so as to not take away from what impact the next mainline Zelda game will want to have) certainly won't be a notable system seller even if it finds success.

Nintendo USA offering a slightly aggressive deal to coincide with the price increase of a "free" game (Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananaza or Pokopia). I wonder if they'll do the same in Europe - it's a fantastic way to counter the price increase short-term and with any luck the next Direct will be much excite and then some.

Switch 1 will be launching in India soon. I don't think Nintendo has ever established a foothold in this market, but Sony sold 900k PS2 and 500k for both PS4 and 5. It will retail for the equivalent of $200.

Blimey. 12 got re-booted from scratch. I am guessing they were once again foolishly going for the more powerful PlayStation before getting the memo about Sony's Japan sales collapse and have dropped the darker, higher graphical fidelity to let Switch do it's thing - at least the S2 instalbase will be big enough for it at least.

Hated it, and yet I'm tempted to try it again now that the image will at least be less blurry.

Nate the Hate is rumouring that the next Direct is week of 8 June.

Not got an hour to watch this video piece?

• Direct airing week beginning 8 June
• it's a General Direct.
• June Direct won't effect September Direct going ahead.
• Star Fox still has unannounced content (likely multilayer modes).
• no further predictions until he makes a predictions video.

It's been the worst kept secret in gaming, but very exciting to finally have a confirmation that this is coming!

I’m surprised at 2026 since the trailer was giving “we’ve just been told to get this started!”

I hope they include a way to let you unfreeze those poor Zora in this version. That always bugged me as a child, thinking of them stuck under all that ice. :(

So I do think this was a very strong 3rd party showing (especially Capcom and Square), and it's probable this was the flex here, but first party wise I'm wondering if they're holding stuff back to try and maximise what's being brought to the table from them.

No 3D Mario, no whiff of Smash or Animal Crossing or anything new as a proper holiday title is just strange to me. Maybe the strategy is also to get those deceptively "casual" games out earlier in the life cycle that will sell over time as opposed to getting those "sold xx million in its first week" statements.

I'm now convinced OoT is probably quite special, not that I would ever not be getting it. And if it is, it hides time for the next mainline Zelda - truly their "look what we can do" franchise now if you ask me.
