I would suggest just setting up a YouTube playlist for this, as it'll save you a massive headache!

Obviously very much in for this and have no idea what the original options were, but am I reading it right, we get to pick our nation at some point, if it isn't taken? Will there be a list?

I kind of want mine assigned randomly and I want it to be as difficult as possible :D

Imagine the horror when you find out Northern Ireland HAS NO MUSIC WHATSOEVER and you have to invent your own

You get to choose your country in order of the DRAW, so the further down you are the LESS choice you have, but you can select ANY country in the world. Then you have SEVEN DAYS to find your song and send it in.

For some reason I thought you’d have your own list we can choose from. This is good!

Nope, any nation will be allowed. Some people will alreadt have a song in mind so will choose a country based on that. Others might not, and choose a country then find a song. Depending on how much of a challenge you want you can pick an obvious country or go obscure!

Okay, this is fine. I will have a few options tentatively at the ready I'm sure, and there are many songs that could represent more than one country.

However I like the idea of going in blind and digging deep for unknown delights/disasters so I might just assign myself at random.

Either way I'm CREAMING MY KNICKERS at all this :disco:
 
I think the semi-final element is a shame.

The beauty of yesterday was the RSI we all inflicted on ourselves refreshing the page to find out what monstrous scores we had or hadn’t received. It not only made the final very entertaining, but also really inclusive & all entrants were invested in their performance ‘on the night’. I’m not so sure you’ll get that if half the songs get dumped from the competition in the semis.

Not that I’m too worried about THAT happening to me based on the sleeper success of the silken-voiced Twinnie of course.

I get what you are sayingI think there's going to be too many songs to have just one round. I think around 30 was the absolute limit, plus I think the ANTICIPATION of the semi final results is going to be amazing. There will be MELTDOWNS. Having semis will stretch it out a bit more, and I wanted it to be a bit more like Eurovision itself. Having the semis element will also make it more competitive, because people won't just send any old shite in on a whim.

NO!!! It will be towards the weekend. I will PM everyone when it is their turn, but probably Friday.
 
THIRTY-TWO entrants now, so we are DEFINITELY doing TWO semi-finals! :disco:

You can still declare your interest until 5PM UK time on Thursday!
