Anyway it doesn’t matter too much because if the sedatives kick in and I do enter, you’ll all be getting some high-end hardcore ethnotastica in foreign AND LIKE IT! :disco:

3 weeks will be accepted if you can prove that they had sexual relations on 3 or more odd days during the 3 weeks. If the moon is full on any of these days then you have to add the area of the nation/city/micro nation and divide it by the circumference of 3 circles of your choosing to get the acceptable duration.

I do have a strong feeling this is going to be a HOT MESS of a competition. I'm excited to see how it plays out.
 
I've chosen my country - and am agog to have to hurriedly go for a plan b when I discover it's already been taken - and have now whittled the songs down to a superfinal of just 38. Do I go for the ethnic rap? The ethnic Evansescence? The fucking absurd musical theatre schlager?

I used that random country generator to pick a shortlist, and I've been looking for music from them. I was down to my country and Afghanistan which, I was delighted to discover, has produced some absolute bangers.
 
Case in point - I was looking into MALTA a little bit today and found some okay songs. Quite weak overall, only to find out literally every one was linked to Eurovision someway. Mostly that the artist had been part of their national selection over the years. I'm trying to actively avoid any 'knowns' like that
 
Having previously been set on one song I've since thought of others and I now have a shortlist of 6 countries, some connections more tenuous than others :)

Half of the artists from the Maltese selection are only going to be "known" to Kala though.
 
Delegating the countries one by one is going to be an absolute nightmare. I'll be shocked if ALL FORTY FOUR PLAYERS will be online at the same time. It's going to take DAYS.

Again GOOD LUCK. If you think you've already seen complaining...
 
For some countries, like Malta, it is going to be inevitable that there are some Eurovision links. That is fine though as long as the SONG has not participated in Eurovision or a national selection.

44 now, CHRIST this is going to be bigger than I thought. I might have to do THREE semis at this rate. A final of max 24-26 songs though, I think.

With delegating countries, I think I might ask everyone to be online at a set time, say 8-10pm on Sunday, and if they can't make it then they have to let me know in advance and they give me a list of 10 countries, and they get one from that, or else they get one allocated to them by me.
 
I bet Kala would LOVE three semifinals though.:side-eye: This Lithuanian national selection sized mess that will be upon us. If the Coronavirus doesn’t kill us this will.
 
What I CAN do is PM everyone with their PLACING in the draw as soon as it happens, which I can do on Thursday. Then that way they will have an idea of how many countries they will have to choose from, so if you are 41st in the draw, do not be expecting FRANCE to be available, but maybe have a list of a few like Serbia, Mexico, Philippines, Argentina etc...

I will then do the allocation on Sunday, so people have a few days to THINK about countries, and come up with a list of possibilities.

I can't really make the draw public because people could work out who is what countery eg if we all know that COB is drawn first, and Alla is second and I tell Alla Belarus is not available, he will know COB is Belarus.

No, I'll send them a PM with a list of the countries taken, so they select one not on the list. I'm not gonna play a guessing game!
 
What if you have a place for everyone, so 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc, but they can email you whenever. Then when you've got a bunch of them you can PM them to say that someone ahead of them has selected the country and they need to choose another.

It's still complicated but might be a bit easier than you sitting waiting for a reply before you contact the next person and so on.
 
I was thinking of asking everyone to PM a list of 10 countries in preference and take the highest one left. This means the top 10 will be easy to allocate, and then also statistically the next 20 or so as not everyone will pick the same 10. There may will be instances where they're all gone by position 30 or so, but it won't be everyone, and I can PM to let them know to pick something else.
 
I think either of your options will work fine. And if you tell everyone to be online at a certain time, but someone isn't, then TOUGH TITTIES, they lose their place in the draw until they show up.
 
My idea is to choose a song, and if the country is chosen just make up anything to relocate the artist anywhere else. I think this is the easiest way to do this and not going on forever with lists of 10 countries and all this craziness.
 
I have a list of seven countries so far, but things are coming to me all the time :o
 
The Apprentice was actually done in a Spanish forum I read from time to time with quite a big success. The fights and dramas are endless.
