Old TOTP (BBC4)

Reg aside I am not sure I really like Sam Brown's version of Can I Get A Witness. It is just a bit much.

I'm looking forward to seeing a Lynne Hamilton performance at some point.

:D at smouldering Stefan and his lovely ladies.

OUR SIN was top notch last night. Definitely the highlight of the two episodes :disco:

Anthea Turner really was in regular TOTP rotation in '89.

It feels like this Natalie Cole video has been on about ten episodes.

Catching up and Lynne Hamilton and her fabulous hair singing the Prisoner theme while teenage girls in shell suits dance slowly to it

I don't think I have seen this Cyndi video since when it was out.

Another shoulda been top ten and some hot pole action from Fuzzbox. :disco:

'89 must have been a HOT SUMMER

Foxy Vix Fuzzbox and her BIG NAIL
Stipe topless
Donna Allen JIGGLING her TITS
Double Trouble in NASTY SHIRTS
Sinitta in a LUDICROUS HAT
Cyndi Lauper NAKED PROJECTIONS
oh and JAZZZZZZZZON DONOVAN

Simon Parkin looked especially awkward when delivering the fascinating update on the pronunciation of Lauper.

Great episode.

Oh boy, right I don't have the energy but various episodes are about to expire...

The London Boys - shite. I mean, I'm sorry they died so horribly but this is gash.

De La Soul - this is still the absolute tits. Glad I snagged that 2CD of 3 Feet High And Rising before in vanished into legal hell.

Morrissey - Interesting Drug. His first unmemorable release. Imperial phase - over.

The Beatmasters - one thing I don't miss about TOTP is programmers feeling obliged to mime instruments. They always looked daft as fuck.

...but deliberate crap is still crap.

Midnight Oil. Terrible record but what a subject matter to take to the charts internationally.

Debbie Gibson with all the stage presence of an early Dua Lipa perf i.e. none.

People say that Kylie wasn't a great actor but she's doing an amazing job of looking like she actually digs "Hand On Your Heart".

"LIve Report". I don't remember this AT ALL. Bland and stodgy - like a porridge sandwich.

Don't remember this Swing Out Sister song. Decent punt at being Dusty Springfield but Dusters was actually around and making records at the time which probably didn't help.

Stevie Nicks - that's more like it. Proper off her chuff, this one. She has that look, just behind the eyes. The one that says "cross me and I will set your entire life on fire, not just yr room".

Has Wendy James just been bathing in oil?

Certainly not the cocaine sweats :eyes:

I stand by my 8 year old self in thinking Batdance is absolute garbage.

Christ Back To Life is such a solid classic. Soundtrack to the long hot summer of 1989.
