Morrissey. I'm sorry but "The Last Of The International Playboys" still sounds brilliant. It was exciting to see him on TOTP (and on record) with all of The Smiths bar Johnny Marr, gave us a wee bit of hope. Although he was a dick not to ask Stephen Street who played guitar and synth on the record.

Makes it all the more sad how utterly repellent he is now. Prick.

TOTP was really metalphobic sometimes...starting songs halfway through and showing about 90 seconds.

Pop Will Eat Itself in the breakers: Clint Mansell (their lead singer) becoming a highly successful film composer was every bit as unlikely in 1989 as Morrissey becoming and insufferable racist cockdribble.
