Sinitta dressed as a school girl :bad:

I presume she was a evacuee when she was at school.

If I hear Road To Hell on the radio I don't turn it off. I have no desire to watch him perform it, however.

Kind of horrified to realise Cliff is the same age here that I am now :zombie:

Did he console himself with 'at least I'm not as fucking tragic as that' as well?

No, he was just AGOG and horrified in equal measure before consoling himself that at least he “isn’t that shit”. Given the song, it was a fair call...

“Tonight we have Chris Rea and Living In A Box”

JESUS WEPT

Episode Two is MUCH better. Even if Debbie is recycled from a couple of weeks ago.

I know you all fucking hate her you philistines but that Janet performance was ICONIC!

I audibly screamed that she was in the studio.

Sad to see we're near the end of the 80s (prompted by seeing NKOTB), but thrilled for the upcoming 90s episodes.

I understand why some may enjoy that Janet performance but it kinda leaves me nonplussed.

Love that I actually screamed at the tv when Debbie Harry was listed as being at #8 that “THAT NEVER WENT TOP TEN, IT PEAKED JUST OUTSIDE” to a bemused Mr Sheena.

Albeit that Mr Sheena just reported her to be a “bit glum”

THAT, my dear, was VERY MUCH THE POINT :disco:

Never noticed how much NKOTB’s “The Right Stuff” rips off “You Can Be Mine” from Janet Jackson’s Control.

And yeah, fuck off haters, that Janet performance was ICONIQUE

I skipped through a few episodes. There was very little to recommend late-summer/early autumn 89 although it was rather lovely to see The Wonder Stuff rattling through the fabulous "Don't Let Me Down Gently". Sad to think that 2 of them died so young tho'. RIP Martin Gilks (the hot drummer) and The Bass Thing.

808 State we really are on the cusp of the 90s. To think only a couple of years ago we were watching Shakin Stevens and the Nolans.
