I remember when I got to the age when dinner parties were just endless drones about mortgages and home improvements.

Now it's all early retirements, pensions and moves to the coast.
 
Are they good friends (or colleagues or other STAKEHOLDERS shall we say) or can you feasibly tell them you’ve had quite enough for one evening and flounce out?

I think the only solution is to get in touch with the parents and tell them that their son's other half is after their money. That should ensure no more arguments.
 
I've just put a hyaluronic acid face mask on. I guess it IS supposed to burn, RIGHT?

I honestly can’t imagine slapping a face mask on in THIS heat. I’m already sweating like a cunt, as I once heard a mother loudly shout in front of her children on the Circle Line :)

No, it's one of those wet paper types. Very cooling (apart from the third degree burns).
