Pete Burns DEAD (1 Viewer)

Oh my. There can't have been any profit left after that, surely?

It's happening more and more often these days. Apparently the latest Yazz rerelease is rife with problems and the £400 Pink Floyd set is all sorts of WONKY too.

The Floyd set isn't *that* bad - one track that isn't what the fans thought it was, a BluRay that works for most people but not a vocal few and a "bonus disc" that shouldn't have been there, cunnigly turned into a Brucie Bonus.

I dunno if they'll repress the whole DOA set. It's not as if they can get a few more signed, eh?

It's literally with EVERYTHING. I'm still SNORTING about the Saint Etienne reissue, I forget which, on which the song begins again over the top of the song itself (if that makes sense) halfway through and NO ONE NOTICED! :D

And of course there's plenty of profit left- it costs, what, 50p for a record company to print a CD?

My all-time fave reissue error (that I've probably mentioned before) is on Belinda Carlisle's A Woman & A Man, which used the version of I Won't Say I'm In Love from the actual Hercules film (with the cast singing) instead of Belinda's recording

My favourite is a Scott Walker CD that, somehow, only played out of one speaker. Given that Scott was in his pomp during the era of wide stereo, this rendered several tracks somewhat deficient.

I have no clue how much it costs to put these things together or how many they sell. It's clearly profitable, as Cherry Red seem to be doing booming business, VoR's misgivings notwithstanding.

There can't be a lot of cash in it though, surely?

Apparently the YAZZ FIASCO can be compared to "The National Gallery losing a painting"

:D

"This Yazz album was originally on Big Life, a label owned by her husband. Did Cherry Red even ask him for the masters?"

TRY A FUCKING SEANCE :eyes:

:D

That would certainly give them a new angle to hang the promo off of. "APPROVED FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE".

How many Yazz fans can there possibly be?

I think you'd be surprised. It was certainly one of the most requested/"wanted" (tee hee) of the 80s remasters. I mean, you could argue, who the fuck would want a Mandy Smith album but that did WELL ENOUGH...

All this death chat once again has me wondering to myself: when IS Pete Burns' funeral going to happen? Did Boy George's generous offer only cover a balsa coffin and a round of paste on brown?

There is literally no evidence of his death or burial. I wonder if there's a death certificate. Do we know where he died?

It's all MOST bizarre. I'm going to email Lynne saying PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN

Maybe they laid him on a velvet cloth on a beach somewhere, handed out the doughnuts and left him to be pecked by birds :disco:

I love the thought of him moving to some far-off country and attempting to BLEND IN

According to someone on FB who isn't necessarily to be trusted, it's already happened: it was a "very private ceremony" and he's been "cremated". What a slap in the face: I wanted to turn up in my sequinned gown with gardenias from the Bonjour and a share bag of Frazzles

I tweeted Lizzie Cundy to ask if she knew when it was - if anyone knows she will - but she blocked me. I might also have made a comment about her being over 40.

Maybe Pete needs a special licence due to the implants and other toxins in his body. A standard crematorium might explode if it's not handled correctly.

Of COURSE it would be a VERY PRIVATE CEREMONY if he's faking it

LYING BITCH

:D Tweet Boy George as well and ask him if he coughed up the CASH MONEY

I once went to a crematorium open day. Quite a lot of fun I must say. We all had an exclusive rummage through a bucket containing the metal objects left in the ovens after they'd burned the corpses :disco:

Here’s PETE to say hi and call all chat loungers cunts to the face from beyond the grave, although we all know he’s sipping Dom Pérignon with Jackie and Zsa Zsa on that secret island OBVIOUSLY :disco:

You can see it all go down here from 12:14

“Darling I’ve got a really bad left foot.”
“SO?”

:D

Rula's voice is that of an absolute goddess. What an amazing cast that is! I know it's a total old person thing to say, but they don't get celebrity casts like that any more..
