to be fair I think the ask is "post the first song you remember from any particular artist" rather than "the actual first song you can remember". I'd be concerned if @RJN who's my age couldn't remember any music pre-Cherly

I personally have a great memory anyway. My brother is 3 years older than me but my earliest memories of growing up pre-date his.

I always associate childhood music memories from what my parents had in the car on cassette at the time - it ranged from Lisa Stansfield to Queen, Kylie Minogue to The Best Dance Album In The World... Ever! Part 3.

my mum had Beautiful Stranger on cassette but furiously denies it to this day.

My mom had some charity concert dvd and I was very into watching the Enrique Iglesias performance as a young child

This answers both questions actually, but my mom had a compilation cd that had “Oi to the World” by No Doubt on it. It’s one of the first songs I remember and now I love No doubt/Gwen stefani
