Race Across The World - New BBC Reality Gameshow (3 Viewers)

I'm enjoying the poor brother with his rucksack full of travel gadgets. I think we've had money belts, hands free head torches and travel pillows already.

Yin and Gaz just have too interesting a dynamic to leave this soon. Caroline and Tom don't really offer any new take on a parent child relationship, so I'd favour them as well. Surprised how much I'm enjoying the brothers.

They are desperately trying to manufacture some tension at the end here, aren't they? Just how many thousand km away are Yin and Gaz?

The running around like headless chickens bit was quite amusing.

Poor Yin and Gaz, doomed anyway but then apparently sent in entirely the wrong direction just to top it all off. The way they just leave them mid-leg just feels so sad :(

Proper gutted for then but when they are happily remarried it’ll have been worth it

I'm not sure I do want them to remarry necessarily

I'd just like them to have a mid morning chat show together

OH yeah, they seem to have a sweet relationship, and all existence is suffering and all that, but I bet her life as a posho mother wasn't really THAT gruelling. Bet they had HELP.
I enjoyed her reference to 'looking after the animals'. I think we might be talking paddocks and stables here :disco:

Maybe it's coming later in the series, but them pushing her as some shut-in housewife who's given up on doing anything for herself in favour of raising her kids, with NO MENTION of her winning pony competitions, is quite the choice :D

Awwww Yin and Gaz :(

I was wondering if we hadn’t seen much of them all ep and we were going to get the edit that shows them actually finishing 4th and we get to see how they clawed it back. Not to be though.

What happened last episode that resulted in them being so behind? Or was it just a series of unfortunate events? The ferry was delayed somewhat wasn’t it?

I like that posh boy is a labourer, and the response from his mum about it was so sweet. Had a little cry at that.

I guess the China authorised locations have dried up which is why they had to fly out. Certainly saw more of the “real” Napal and India then we ever did of China.

Quite an emotional pull tonight’s episode. Who knew making dumplings would bring the tears 😭

Was deffos a vibe shift once they left.

Really warming to the brothers and even getting a bit of a soft spot for the poshos.

Love the sisters

Worried Welsh girl is going to pull the plug but hopefully she finds her groove

I'm hoping that the continued heavy teasing of more trouble for her means they don't actually go. It wouldn't be great to be down to three couples for half the series, and it makes the seemingly arbitrary early cut they do feel a bit risky.

The brothers are doing very well and have grown on me so much (the 'successful' brother managing to barter the price of a ride upwards in super Apprentice fail style was highly amusing though).

Saying that, maybe it is just how I am perceiving it, or over familiarity with the format, but the way some of the backstories and dynamics are being played out feels a little more obviously engineered than in the past. Last week the young couple (him especially) seemed to be doing some prime reality tv self producing the way they were discussing their relationship.

Well as we’ve all learnt from MARINA people know how to act on reality TV now :(

I do feel though they are very good at matching the pre recorded story with the event unfolding and let’s face it what they’re asking before the trip isn’t beyond the realms of Psychic Susan down the local boozer.

Are you confident?
Are you good in busy places?
How’s your relationship?
Do you get on with your sister?
How do you manage langue barriers?

On that guy though saying he wasn’t sure if he loved her or not and he still needs to use the trip to figure it out I was like “oh honey red flag get out of that relationship! That’s what I tell guys on Grindr!”

if the welshies win this whole thing then fair play tbh :D

Gutted for them getting took to the airport instead of the bus station. They’d have made really headway otherwise (maybe)

Posho mum and son probably my faves now.

I come for the sweeping vistas but stay for the people. I've gone from not liking the 'successful' older brother to finding him dry and self-aware. Sibling relationships tend to be the most interesting across all the series. I do feel as the years go by it seems more controlled, with fewer genuine travel options, but it's still an engaging format.

I can find something to enjoy in all of them and struggle to name a favourite - or any that I'd prefer not to win. It really is cast and edited wonderfully.

I seen Tom (had a photo taken with him), Fin and Sioned and Elizabeth and Letitia at Radio 1 Big Weekend in Liverpool. Fin is a lot smaller than I imagined, Tom was even hotter that I imagined.

They looked like they were really great friends though albeit getting a bit sick of being stopped everywhere.

The cast do seem to really bond over the experience every year.

Just caught up on last weeks. Really am fond of the two old boys now, but its wide open between the top three i feel

I think i might be an episode behind, but have loved the brothers from day 1. They seem to be doing too well, feels like it's going to come crashing down before the end.

Can't get on with posho housewife-of-a-chief-exec mum though.

Welsh couple are fine, they just blend in a bit.

It must be my hormones, because I think every team has made me well up a bit tonight.

Yes, it worked well for them without doubt. I just worry how they can sustain it over the last two legs.

Really chuffed the Welshies managed to catch up! If only for the makings of a good finale leg!
