I've never been sure of what the right word is for heavy snow. Like, when it's raining heavily, we'll say it pissing it down, throwing it down, sheeting it etc but the only word I've ever come across that seemed adequate for show was "thumping".

I must say they're my major concern and it is baby season, just to make it worse. I don't want them being frightened or blown off branches although the adults are at least very good at landing NOT THAT MY SQUIRREL KNOWLEDGE IS EXCESSIVE OBVIOUSLY
