Heathcliff was very good overnight considering how noisy the wind was.

But every island news source and police are saying not to go out unless you have to. So I've decided not to go to the shop and to stay at home with Heathcliff instead.

Annoyingly Mandy has to go to her work for 2 hours this morning :bruised:

Stay safe everyone, we just have heavy snow here so it could be worse - I'm not relishing the thought of heading out in it in the next half hour or so though

It's suddenly so calm out. Even the leaves on the trees aren't moving. It feels like when the tide goes out before a tsunami hits.

How is that possible? It’s certainly very windy here, if not “red alert” levels.

Honestly looking out my window and for a few minutes it was absolutely still. It is back to windy now but not ridiculous.

Yeah, it’s definitely not crazy. The BBC says 55mph right now but it’s surely nowhere near.

Definitely not that strong. Although I think it's meant to hit us around 10am so I'm expecting it to be bad then.

Have you got sea views from where you are or not?

I woke up at about quarter to six - not a flake to be seen. "Pffft", I thought to myself.

Well, how wrong can you be, it is now thumping it down with snow.

Oh, the fictional transport cancellations have already started! One guy is right in the shit after claiming his entire bus route was cancelled and a colleague said "bollocks it is, I pass his house" :D

Looks like I picked the wrong day to have a flight from Stansted.

Ah well, if I miss a weekend in Lisbon I guess it means I can watch Linda live at Melodifestivalen so swings and roundabouts.

Are flights even flying?!

God I’m THIRTY FIVE today. How did this spring up :o
What is the EXACT date that you’re no longer young? I’m about to turn 37 and I still get “don’t worry you’re still young” to certain situations.

Update - the colleague was joking. Crisis averted.

I must say the alleged 60mph winds we're supposed to be having around now do not appear to have kicked off yet.

That said there's a fast moving cloud of doom appearing on the horizon.

I get that at work quite a bit (I'll be 38 in a few months), but only because I'm the youngest one there :basil:

Apparently it's all meant to hit after 10am.

You are child pornography (I get that all the time cause I look quite young)
