Mysterious absence of the phrase ‘and therefore we have withdrawn the whip’ in that statement.

He's confirmed he's had the whip removed on Twitter. As well as the usual whining that he's being silenced for criticising AR NIGE!

I've been thinking for a while we probably need a Reform thread, as depressing as it may be, they're basically the opposition in a lot of people's minds these days.

In the interest of balance, I'm happy to also have a Liberal Democrats: The Ed Davey Years thread if they ever, y'know, do anything.

Zia Yusuf clearing the decks for his inevitable takeover of the party.

AS IF the Liberal Democrats will ever be relevant again

To be fair to the Lib Dems, jokes aide I assume most of them are doing exactly what they should be doing - being visible and productive local MPs who will be difficult for the Cons or Reform to shift in the next election. (Assuming they don't stumble into power and wind up alienating an entire generation of their supporters again!)

On a non Lab/Tory aside, it just struck me that Rosie Duffield is STILL an MP! What an absolute grift of life to quit the party about 3 weeks into the job and then spend the next 5 years watching the salary roll in while living on the other side of the country from your constituency and doing the square root of fuck all. It'd be almost admirable if she wasn't such a massive wanker.

Does she even attend parliament regularly? When you're an independent MP what exactly are your non-negotiable responsibilities, and who has the power to censure you if you don't fulfil them?

How the frig did an independent Duffield get a seat on the Women and Equalities Committee?

She does attend parliament and has two staffers funded by JK Rowling apparently :manson:

Their newest MP really zeroing in on the big issues of the day with her first PMQs question.

I can't believe he's only just noticed every one he works with hates Muslims. The fact he and the other guy in charge of 'British Doge' have quit together days after getting started does make you question whether maybe Reform aren't going to have the easiest time CHOPPING INEFFICIENCIES in local councils.

I expect he might not have been ALL THAT POPULAR with most Reform voters :eyes:

:D “… another evil spirit” does that mean his grandmother also wicked and evil?

I do like it when these people have their policies thrown back in their faces and it’s always “no no that’s not what we meant!” 🙄

Can’t find THAT reported ANYWHERE.

Only endless stories about how Frogface is going to be our next PM :eyes:

The way the BBC are paining Reform as the opposition party is terrifying. We're literally being gaslit into thinking this shower are a government in waiting. The Lib Dems have eighteen times as many seats and we hear nothing. We're been forcefed the most hideous of narratives and I have no idea what the hell we're going to do about it.

Its so odd how much airtime they are getting

The BBC had a boner for Farage before the papers did. After they got 8 million viewers for Question Time when they had Nick Griffin on, they couldn't help themselves; Griffin was a bumbling idiot but Farage has the gift of the gab as well as having so little in his diary that he was almost always available at the last minute. And now the press and the BBC are grooming him for No. 10.

Danny Kruger (Prue Leith's son) has defected from the Conservatives to Reform. First sitting MP to do so.

It really is going to be the same old shit getting back in again isn’t it :D
