Rihanna to headline 2023 Superbowl halftime show (definitely)

There was a thread a few days ago saying it was Taylor Swift?

Oh yes it was Tisch

So who's the lier? Tisch or GNL

"Bitch Better Have My Money" - Taylor Swift's reasoning for choosing re-recording old albums over the Super Bowl

Rihanna is still a big name though
Probs a bigger name than TayTay
And in terms of publicity for Super Bowels Rhi Rhi headlining would generate more interest (i.e. ratings) than TayTay
Sorry not sorry
Not that I'd evah want to pit strong independent females against one another
But you know
Facts are facts
America

Rihanna hasn't performed live in almost (?) a decade now or something right?
Let's face it, we all know that Rihanna's return to the stage with Super Bowels would generate far more interest than
Yet another Taylor Swift medley

:eyes:

Is the halftime show broadcast worldwide? Does it get a lot of viewers?

Why must we pit successful women against one another? There are enough Superb Owls for everyone - even J Lo!
Worst Super Bowels ever but I can't say that on Mopsty because
Believe or not
She actually has
Stans here in high places

I agree that Rihanna will generate more interest (in America too). I just think Taylor is a bigger name

It's not about the ratings per se but the publicité.
Case in point : everyone was talking about Madonna's super bowels in 2012 and it propelled her MDNA Tour tickets worldwide
Even though the album was shit

Can confirm it is broadcast on UK television at some obscene time of night as somebody who stayed up to watch Gaga's halftime show with The Gays.

Pon De Replay
New Single
Diamonds
What's My Name
Work
Umbrella

Though ideally we'd get S&M or Rude Boy instead of Pon De Replay.

QUEEN

For some reason my Rihanna highlight was when she correctly identified Northern Ireland as being part of the United Kingdom, which is impressive for a North American.

Also never forget Man Down, California King Bed, S&M, Where Have You Been, Kiss It Better and tits out throwaway bangers Who's That Chick and Disturbia.

I hope this means she's finally taking time off from designing labels for lipstick or whatever to give us a new album :disco:

If she doesn’t release a new album to coincide with it, I’m not interested.

*releases redundant Spotify only greatest hits album with no new material*

I mean, she's made something like 1.4 billion in the past 5 years with Fenty.

I'd hit pause on my music career with a business taking off like that as well.

I’d do something like:

Where Have You Been (intro) w/ elements of This is What You Came For
New single
Umbrella
Work/What’s My Name medley
SOS/Only Girl/Don’t Stop the Music medley
We Found Love

I don’t think it matters who the bigger star is between Taylor and Rihanna. Both have more than enough signature hits to headline this show. Taylor has obviously been more visible the past few years since Rihanna’s retirement, but that is not all that relevant for a Super Bowl half time show that has generally been more of an opportunity for legacy acts anyway.
