Robyn & Röyksopp announce joint tour & mini-EP

Sorb, if you want to check out Royksopp, I'd start with The Understanding
Absolutely. Although Junior has some epic pop highs.

Melody AM was great at the time, but they've developed quite a bit from that starting point. Besides Eple gets over-played as background. The Understanding was like the soundtrack to the cold war.

Not sure I have time to listen to the new one until I'm at work tomorrow.

Such a triumph I've went and bought Body Talk (£5.99), and, going against everything I thought I stood for on the issue of albino pop trolls who need a better therapist, stylist and dentist, I think it's just about the best pop album of recent times. And I own MDNA.

10 Do It Again (I like the way it documents its own brilliance, with the wimpy Madonna's capacity for sadness, euphoria and rebellion all working in delicious masochistic unison. 2:22 actually takes life away from you and gives it right back)
10 Monument (if these guys are accused of being waiting room music, then this must be Madeline Ashton at the morgue, it's chilling, detached and precise in its pathos)
00 Sayit (a glorified interlude)
10 Every Little Thing (sensitively sensational)
07 Inside the Idle Hour Club (I liked it in a Jam & Spoon kind of way, but this is more of a credits-rolling opportunity if they wanted to pull a Gaga with a misleading 10 minute youtube upload)

The sap and the sopp did good.

"Monument" is just EVERYTHING, absolutely the big keeper from the EP. One of the best things either has ever done

"Do It Again" is quite clearly incredibly addictive too, I can listen on repeat - although I do wish the song title/chorus lyric was a little less generic.

Add "The Girl And The Robot" and "None Of Dem" to your Spotify playlist and you basically have a full album :disco:

Is this touring coming to London?? It BETTER. Imagine the gay coma that would erupt when Robyn takes the stage to sing the vocal to "Running To The Sea", faeces of over-excited homosexuals ALL OVER the venue :disco:

I just wish I could chop off those almost jazzlike noodlings from the end of 'Monument'.

I'm really disappointed in myself that I'm not totally obsessed with this EP.

Do It Again is the only 13/10 :(

I can't get enough of "Monument"- it's beautiful. And even the jazz like noodlings.

This will be my monument
This will be a bacon when I'm gone...

Other than that, "Do It Again" is the only other standout, to be fair.

:D ! My "insert" button went wrong but I'm LEAVING THAT IN :D

Even with the noodlings, I'd happily rate Monument a 10. Do It Again is obviously another, and Every Little Thing a solid 8. The other two just feel a little self indulgent to me for a five track EP.

And why still no UK tour dates, other than a festival?

Yes, a full length album would have been JUST THE TICKET right about now

And in fairness, she's ARSED ABOUT with EPs for TOO DAMNED LONG

Slightly underwhelming US TV performance

I know she usually sings over a backing track, but is that completely mimed? It sounds it to me, although she doesn't look like she is, and there are a few quiet live ad libs. Perhaps the backing tape is just drowning her out.

Is there a new Royksopp remix project on the way? There seems to have been a new one every couple of weeks for some time now.

This is serviceable.

True Electric was the live mixes album released earlier this year and now they just seem to be releasing remixes under the same banner. Who knows what it means.
