And how do you know any other Admin won't?
I don’t. But I've known Indie and octy for twenty years.

Also, years of being moderators without any obvious erratic behaviour. That's why the convention of admins being mods first started.I don’t. But I've known Indie and octy for twenty years.
They may be playing the LONG GAMEI don’t. But I've known Indie and octy for twenty years.
I meant ANY Admin, btw, I didn't mean Indie and Oc in particular.I don’t. But I've known Indie and octy for twenty years.
And it's how I'd consider any admin.I meant ANY Admin, btw, I didn't mean Indie and Oc in particular.

Sadly, Suomi has been here twenty years and so it's curtains for him.Have you been here for twenty years? If not it's curtains I'm afraid![]()
So now this is interesting. We have Samuel, who's been here forever and has the skills to be a great Admin. Being new is not an excuse anymore to vote for someone else, so let's see if people vote for someone competent or this is a popularity vote after all.
It’s 2020. populism > aptitudeSo now this is interesting. We have Samuel, who's been here forever and has the skills to be a great Admin. Being new is not an excuse anymore to vote for someone else, so let's see if people vote for someone competent or this is a popularity vote after all.
Oh of course, I'm not voting for people that don't like me, as if! But among the rest (pretty much everyone) I'll vote for who I truly believe are the most competent. And for mods I also consider being around all the time a key factor to get my vote.Well there's invariably going to be an element of popularity, isn't there? I guess it's a balance, and we all have different priorities.
I'll say the same thing as I said in the other thread: if we have anyone with the relevant tech knowledge, we'd like to hear from them. That's where I'm sorely lacking and I've felt that on a few occasions.

I’m throwing my hat into the ring too xx
I’ve not even been alive 20 years![]()
To me, this comes across as a little cliquey, although I fully understand that isn't the intention. You're very entitled to vote for Indie and octy - the question is whether it would benefit the forum to have an additional admin who can add further technical knowledge to our already stellar lineup. Just a case of complementing what we already have. I'm just not sure I like the insinuation that the criteria for being admin is that you've known them for 20 years, as I'm sure there are some great people out there with great technical ability who wouldn't delete Moopy!
Just a thought @Star but is it worth having a vote on whether there should be 2 or 3 admin as well as a vote on who we want to be admin? It just feels like there are enough people who think 3 would be good to put it to the vote. I understand if that overcomplicates things, but thought I'd raise it as an option!
I was just waiting for Indie to come online as he does most of the tech stuff. Recently he posted he was happy plodding on by himself as he has done in the past. I think the current admin team might have more thoughts on whether we need 2 or 3 admin as they know if 2 can do the job or if they need help. Then the community can decide who those 2 or 3 people are.

Ok, so we've had a chat and got a way to combine both votes as Iguana suggested.
You will be able to vote for UP TO THREE admin. However in order to be elected the candidate must recieve at least 50% confidence. So for example;
10 people vote and the votes are as follows
8 for Kylie
7 For Dannii
4 for Brendan
1 for Trump
Kylie and Dannii would be elected as they fulfil both criteria.
If the votes were;
8 for Kylie
7 for Dannii
5 for Brendan
1 for Trump
Kylie, Dannii and Brendan would be elected
If there is a draw, I'm ded.
