Saturday feels fluffy and warm

Off for lunch with my bestie in an hour or so and a new Nurse With Wound 2CD had plopped onto the doormat. It's beginning to look a lot like Octymas...

They were playing an Olly Murs cover version of I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday on the radio this morning. Christmas is CANCELLED.

I think I've over prepared freezer wise for Christmas. It's absolutely rammed.

I'm a huge fan of party food during the Merrineum*, when I often chuck a box in the oven and have it with salad for pretty much every meal. Looks like I'll be starting early this year.

*thanks @InDie Hard for introducing that to moopy (or at least a quick search tells me it was you). It's been officially adopted at work now on our festive leave chart.

I'm about to get on a train to Sitges to top up my gay energy

Darlings I'm a bit gutted Traitors (and therefore Moopy Traitors) will not run concurrently to my annual traumatic extended visit to my parents. It was a beautiful distraction and I deserve a redemption arc

I’ve prepped the christmas meal for 18 despite the kids waking up at fucking 5am and everyones gone out for a walk. Ket time.

Waiting for a new hot water bottle from Amazon to really spice up this dismal cold.

I still need to buy a couple of Christmas presents really but they’re for people I don’t particularly like. All suggestions welcome and wrong answers too (obviously). Under a tenner preferred.

I've just seen a carol concert near us tomorrow and I'm highly tempted to go down, in spite of my debilitated self.

Just look up Christmas presents under £10 on Amazon and voila, all the shit candles and socks you can imagine.

I stole it from Suzie Dent off Twitter, to be fair.

I ventured to the local shopping place, it took me twenty minutes to get onto the car park and there were no parking spaces so I turned round, called at KFC and came home again.

Still another week to buy presents.

I only have a handful still to get. One is a voucher, one is cash, another is Amazon and the other 5 mins away.

My sister's birthday is Monday, and I already sent her her present. I have a White Elephant gift exchange thing tonight, where we also are each bringing a different dip, so I need to buy something for that and make a dip today

What's this in British please?
Christmas with a cost of living crisis twist

Each participant supplies one wrapped gift, usually of similar value or any value.[3] The gifts are placed in a central location, and participants determine in which order (often by numbers randomly drawn prior to the start of the game) they will take turns selecting a gift. The first person opens a wrapped gift, and the turn ends.[3] On subsequent turns, each person has the choice to either unwrap a new present or to steal another's. When a person's gift is stolen, that person can either choose another wrapped gift to open or can steal from another player.[3] Each gift can only be stolen twice per game. The game is over when everyone has a present. At the end, the first player may, if desired, steal any gift – according to some rules, even a gift that is out of play. The first player plays twice.

I’m on a train again. With a woman who has had three cans of alcoholic cocktails in no more than five minutes and has just opened another.

And now she’s just announced to my husband that she’s a doctor. :D

At a pony meet

The train was chaos... expecting the train home to be worse

In terms of gifting I gave away my bucket of Lego (recipient loves the stuff, I never find the time for it, apparently worth a bit, I don't care... I'd rather it be in the hands of someone who loves it than mess around selling it and they were made up) so that's my BIT done for now
I'll do the family last minute as usual

The subway was absolutely rammed and Byres Road - not really a great shopping area - was packed out. I was surprised by the latter.

So like a secret Santa but with added psychological torment?

I approve.

God what it is with Christmas time that just makes families unbearable 😬

Yesterday I fell out with my older brother via WhatsApp, today I fell out with my mum.

I had plans to see ex work friends tomorrow but they've pissed me off so I cancelled them to see my family, then they pissed me off so I cancelled them.

What I'm actually doing tomorrow now is seeing 89 year old Freda, the lady I volunteer for with Age UK, and I couldn't be happier going to see her and talk to her for 3 hours.

Then I'll come home and talk to no one.

Scratching my head trying to think of the common factor here
