Look on the bright side. It’s a lot better than things would have worked out under Chairman Mao.Though there are a few things I left that are now missing, and a nasty black stain on the bedroom carpet that doesn't seem to be going anywhere![]()

Actually, can I enlist Moopy's help in trying to get rid of this? The estate agent is coming on Monday morning to take photos, so if I could get it cleaned before then it would make me feel a lot better! That does look like a burn, in fairness. Is it crispy to the touch?Actually, can I enlist Moopy's help in trying to get rid of this? The estate agent is coming on Monday morning to take photos, so if I could get it cleaned before then it would make me feel a lot better! It looks like this:
I have no idea what it is, but I don't THINK it's a burn. I got this stuff last night, but it hasn't done anything to shift it. If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it! It's in an awkward place where I can't really put something over it without it looking weird/clear I'm trying to cover something up, too![]()

Everything I can find online for such burns/stains suggests a solution of hydrogen peroxide mixed with water. Pretty much all of the sites would appear to be in the US and also cover how to remove an inadvertent iron scorch mark from your white/light carpet. (Quite why anyone would iron their clothes or indeed anything on the carpet is beyond me.) I realise that this probably isn't helpful in the slightest. Apparently sandpapering cigarette burns in a carpet can help to remove them. Good luck with it. I hope something works. Here's one of many links that you've probably already seen: https://ohsospotless.com/how-to-get-burns-out-of-carpet/If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it!
