Morning all!!

I'm trying to be a bit more cheerful than yesterday AND am having an Ace of Base morning to banish coronavirus associated gloom and boredom. I hope you have a lovely day too. It's looking lovely out there.

I'd forgotten what a gem of a 90's pop song 'Life Is A Flower' is. Perfect for a glorious Saturday morning. (Unfortunately, I'd also forgotten what a repetitive load of old rubbish 'Lucky Love' was. Not rating the 2009 version much either.)

It's clouded over here, coinciding with me listening to 'Every Time It Rains' and so I've turned that album off and have skipped to some Abbacadabra in an attempt to coax the sun back out. I'm assured by my phone's forecast that it IS going to get brighter here again. Hope you have a lovely day at the beach.

Morning!

Off to a lovely but fucking hot wedding today.

Less happy about being in the photos with dressings on after they decided to whip out another couple of potentially cancerous lumps yesterday. Also my first face one, so that’s going to be a lovely scar. I’m like a fucking patchwork doll at this point :D

STILL, this is Cheadle, WE TOTTER ON.

We're off to the beach to test out a new inflatable kayak Mandy's bought. I'm a little bit scared.

Ugh my train was cancelled so I need to drive to Manchester  I need to go and pick up one of those things you pop on the windscreen so I can see my phone directions

Good morning! I'm feeling a bit better about being back in my flat today - last night was a real low point l, I was wandering around and just SHOUTING to the benefit of absolutely nobody when I found things that were wrong :D

Though there are a few things I left that are now missing, and a nasty black stain on the bedroom carpet that doesn't seem to be going anywhere :(

Look on the bright side. It’s a lot better than things would have worked out under Chairman Mao.

Another day another cat crisis. Bf's off to the island and called me to say one of the stray cats that come by to be fed is sneezing and has become thinner, so I went to the vet to ask how to help and he told me he's gonna need injections but also gave me some antibiotic powder for the rest of the cats. He says if one is infected they all are, no symptoms just mean they have stronger immune systems.

Bristol Pride is HUGE - easily the biggest I've seem here. The march started leaving Castle Park at 10.45 and they haven't finished leaving yet <3

Honestly I could actually CRY

Such good vibes, and full of young politically motivated people. With other events this week it's actually giving me some faith in the future.

Afternoon.

I've made the mistake of coming into Glasgow City Centre when it's both sunny and there is a festival on. KILL ME NOW

Actually, can I enlist Moopy's help in trying to get rid of this? The estate agent is coming on Monday morning to take photos, so if I could get it cleaned before then it would make me feel a lot better! It looks like this:

I have no idea what it is, but I don't THINK it's a burn. I got this stuff last night, but it hasn't done anything to shift it. If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it! It's in an awkward place where I can't really put something over it without it looking weird/clear I'm trying to cover something up, too :(

That does look like a burn, in fairness. Is it crispy to the touch?

It isn't, but you're right that it looks like a burn apart from that! The carpet itself seems fine apart from being black

Everything I can find online for such burns/stains suggests a solution of hydrogen peroxide mixed with water. Pretty much all of the sites would appear to be in the US and also cover how to remove an inadvertent iron scorch mark from your white/light carpet. (Quite why anyone would iron their clothes or indeed anything on the carpet is beyond me.) I realise that this probably isn't helpful in the slightest. Apparently sandpapering cigarette burns in a carpet can help to remove them. Good luck with it. I hope something works. Here's one of many links that you've probably already seen: https://ohsospotless.com/how-to-get-burns-out-of-carpet/

Thank you! I could try the hydrogen thing, though I'd have to be careful not to make things worse :D

That's possible too! Luckily I've managed to get a friend with a carpet cleaning machine to agree to pop over tomorrow morning, so fingers crossed it comes out :disco:

Could it be make-up? I have accidentally trodden split eyeshadow into a carpet before 😬 but you'd think that would come out or at least smudge a bit with scrubbing.
