season 11: meet the queens

I really wish they’d space it out a bit more between all stars and the regular series

I’m not sure I am ready yet to go through it all over again

Indeed. I don't really understand the theory behind having them so close together...
 
I actually hope they give All Stars a rest for now. I haven’t been this unexcited by a regular season since I started watching back in 2011.

Same, although I fear its half because the mess that was the meet the queens means I found pretty much every s11 queen either dull or actively irritating.
 
there is a video compilation of the season 11 queens performing. i'm a lot more excited after watching.

yvie oddly and the tall deadpan one are my favourites so far.

I guess the reason is because they can just get one programming block on VH1 for a period, which suits VH1 more than finding something to plug the gap between the two series?

I really like the look of Soju, Nina West, Shuga Cain and Vanjie in their intro VTs. Plastique Tiara could be good, but why are there so many dreadful try-hard names this year?

Kahanna, Ariel, Mercedes and Ra'Jah all giving me first out

I’m sure Drag Race fatigue isn’t helping, but half of these girls look a damn mess.

Silky is a more obvious winner than Bob was, and to be honest it looks like she barely has any competition judging by those entrances.

THANK GOD for Vanjie who appears to continue to bring it from a lol POV.
Scarlet Envy one of the few queens who looks FAR BETTER out of drag than in it (surely one of the first few out).

Really underwhelmed by all this cast particularly when you think back to the season 9 entrances when basically the entire cast looked incredible. Let’s hope it’s at least entertaining!

Increasingly normal seasons are feeling like a prolonged- audition for All Stars.
 
most of them look quite rough and could pass for season 3 outtakes. even yvie, nina and scarlet who were my favourites based on the promos look rather rough. soju is probably the worst of the lot though.

let's hope it's a messy season.
 
I've followed Yvie for a while on Instagram.

I think the relative polish of Meet The Queens is unusual - rough seems to be her thing.
 
I think they're mostly ropey in a different way to the early seasons. Gone is the mall drag, replaced by queens who definitely know they look great in unmoving 2d instagram posts but haven't cottoned on that extreme contouring doesn't look good irl.

Like, Scarlett is clearly a very handsome chap, and his entrance look is... a handsome chap in some 'natural' make-up with sketched on tits.
 
That pleases me more than it probably should.

Now I wonder if we'll get the old ones on there?
